Hi guys

Basically while removing my power window black box today, I noticed a wire has been cut for the harness to the remote central locking module. Just wondering if there would be any reason for this? I have a Mongoose M60 alarm installed and I dont want to mess that up if its been cut so the alarm can run properly

Heres a pic, located on drivers side door, to the right of the power window box:

If anyone knows what the wire is for then it would be great to hear so I can work out if it needs to be reconnected :)

Thanks

Callan

why hte hell was that NOT removed.... I bet you have an added actuator in the door as well..

that is the dealer fitted remote entry unit. the cut wire was the power feed to it. the whole thing needed to be pulled when the alarm went in.

they used that on a lot of cars over the years mainly in the R33 series. I have come across the odd 32 GTR with it fitted but they were rare.

take a full shot of the door if its still apart. I want to see what they did when the alarm went in.

thats strange, never thought about that

Got 2 more photos for you, hope there what you wanted, might try unplugging the box if you confirm what you said from these two photos

Does look a bit like an aftermarket actuator is in there...... Must have done a lazy job of installing the alarm then I guess?

yep someone didn't bother to look at all. they plonked another actuator ofver the top of a perfectly good OEM one..

don't pull the module. it will stuff the CDL system up. they usually need a minor rewire when you remove that box.

well if you can dont tell me that publicly here :P

Damn hey, how hard is the re-wire? (I'm guessing because that hasnt been done you can steal my car easily lol) Im pretty good with auto electrical stuff and can probably do it myself, depending on the difficulty

Dont know a great deal about the Nissan central locking system.

Just did a quick google search and have found a relay diagram and a diagram from a pulsar locking system which seemed a bit more helpful but not sure if its the same as the skyline system (or a correct diagram even)

Pulsar Single wire Locking

But other then what I've just googled, I dont know a great deal about how the system is wired.

Sounds like a challenge to me! Come to the Airlie Beach cruise hahahaha.

pay the ticket to proserpine..

cal,

an understanding would have helped :)

if you do decide to pull that module them the yellow and violet wires are the OEM actuator drive wires. hook those to the added actuator wiring and remove the added one. a bit of fiddling witll net a result as I cannot remember which way they are meant to go.

there will be a thin set of wires - white and black. those control the FACTORY CDL module in the dash (S1,S1.5 - passenger side S2,S3 drivers side.)

when you pull that module out make sure the circuit stays intact back to the factory door harness two pin plug.

if you acheive that then you can reuse that actuator.

IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT I SAID DO NOT ATTEMPT IT!!

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
