Terry and I met with owner today. He did say that there is a fair bit of Skyline and Evo theft in the area to we need to be extra cautious.

He said he would try to clear space in the yard so we have a limited number of spaces we can lock in the yard during the movie.

Please send me a PM if you are interested in reserving a spot. It also does mean that we will have to block cars in so once you are in the yard you may not be able to get your car out until the end of the night. I figure if we end around 10:30 or so we may go to Maccas for hot choc anyways. We'll try to accomodate as many as possible but also means we will have to do our best on the night. If you have a daily driver, you might just want to drive that to be on the safe side in case you can't get into the lot. At this point, I'm not sure how many people will show up.

Keep the votes coming in folks.

god is the crime that bad in the area? spose if u have a shiny GTR you would have to be pretty careful, used to slummin it in my 33.

half ten is good, means i can get there with half an hour left and def up for the hot choco's after. Should i bring a bunch of auto dvds to add to the club house collection?

Will try and make it out to this - should be good! Haven't seen the clubhouse yet either. :)

Mate don't forget you get an extra hour's sleep on Sat night too! Clocks go back one hour on Sunday at 3am.

Hey folks don't forget to bring a chair to the event. Otherwise you'll have to sit on the floor because our club house is empty right now.

Looks like a two horse race - I'll bring both movies and we can do a final vote at the event.

But I have to say that "I live my life a quarter mile at a time" is the corn-eee-est quote evar!

Hey Aggro, if you do bring it let us know so we can bring along some popper corn. I've got an air popper but just not the same, you know.

Can you also bring along that vacuum? I was at the club house and could use a little vac before. I plan to get there a bit early.

    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
    • Neg, the top one is actually for the front. The sizes are 18x10.5 +18 and 18x11 +32.   I measured many times but I'm sure I'll have problems as this is the thread for problems.
    • Just one thing; tapping tapered threads is tricky. Taps are always tapered and you would generally run it as far as you can, but with a tapered thread you have to stop much sooner otherwise the wide part of the taper will run in too far and you will have to thread the sensor in too far too as well (possible that it will never make a good seal) BTW nice wide wheels, I guess the top one is for the back!
    • Welp, good to know. Will have to wait awhile until steady hands with drills and taps are available. In other news, these just arrived! I will weigh them for posterity. Edit: 11kg each (or 10.9/11.1 depending on what my scale decides over multiple tests, the 18x11 don't seem to weigh noticeably any more than 10.5)
