Ok, I've been looking at getting some new wheels. I've noticed these APEC Apache wheels which are cheap as plus I like the styling.

So what I'd like to know is would 19" hinder my handling and rub on the guards? Also is 8" wide enough?

Cheers

With 19 inch wheels, you will definitely need to lower it abit.

19x8 should be fine. One of my friend with a R34 GTT coupe tried on to buy these wheels (19x8.5 +35 (Front) on 245/35/19, 19x9.5+35 (Rear) on 275/35/19). Rear wheels were sticking out alot and needs guard rolling.

I am not sure about handling and rubbing issue.

The wheels look good. Good luck.

... 245/35/19 would be an illegal tyre size with 20mm increase in overall diameter - 3.1% speedo inaccuracy. The correct size here would nede to be 245/30/19 or 225-235/35/19.

Worse, 275/35/19 is crazily stupidly illegal with a 40.8mm increase in overall diameter, causing a 6.4% speedo inaccuracy - which would very likely have contributed to the cause of rubbing. A more appropriate size would have been a 255/30R19 for keeping legal.

I honestly don't understand how a tyre shop would even allow these illegal fitments.

Given the size/cost of tyres, and the compromise in how it's going to feel on rough Australian roads - 19" sounds like a crazy idea to me.

I don't know about the legal fact with the R34 GTT. The wheels were off from a V35 coupe.

    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
    • That's one of the reasons I got that breed, they look weird, the other reasons are they small, they are very vocal, and run around like they are on crack, I didn't want a breed that just sits around, these two are like kids on red cordial  My daughter has one, and it's a laugh riot, constantly doing Parkour around the house, sits on her shoulder, plays catch, and constantly runs around the house taking turns chasing the dog around, her Bermese though, just lays around with constant bitch face, and just looks on in utter disgust at the cat and dog playing together
