Post outside the wasteland again and I'll ban your arse you muppet.

Sorry Ash, just thought it would be nice to see the full potential of it considering you would of spent a fortune on it. On the track of course. Kind of like the "Jun Supra Video"....

Again, sorry Ash.

thought it started off good. R34 in the background with 2 guys talking casually. The R34 GTR took too much attention away from your R31.

Your car should have been in the R34s place.

The vid didnt deliver in that you both talk about how wild it is, but you drove it like a grandma. I could barely hear anything exciting when you drove it.

The video for me didnt show off the paint quality either, which Im sure in real-life would be awasome.

Did you guys compose your own music or purchased royalty-free music or what? Seeing that video has given me motivation to get off my ass and attempt to do something similar but I don't wanna get sued for using licensed music and it aint easy getting descent royalty-free music!

Love your work Ash!

As for the video, you may as well have a line up of a 32 - 33- 34 GTR's then go back to yours(Gts-R) as the pre-cursor to them. Not to mention some track footage of yours with hardcore RPM(limiter/valve bouncing), and the on road stuff(non-hardcore) without the pauses. Basically a gamut of footage and influences that cement the Gts-R as the original platform for the GTR's, and if you have some footage with the original engine of the Gts-R. (Like i said a gamut if you can.)

Current video: 7-8/10 (However i will never give a 10/10, as nothing is truly perfect in this world)

Keep in mind, this is only one opinion.

But they wernt the orginal platform for the GTR....

Also not the pre-cursor either

Sorry to hijack the thread R31 Nismoid but i need to know....

In some respects surely it must be???? (as it would have involved things learned from making them that could flow into later cars, at least in a few respects)

And i was implying in a general sense of the word, not specific (eg. You could say that most cars before current modern ones were pre-cursors) :D

amirightorwhat

The GTS-R was just the homologated version of the HR31, there were "GTR" before and after the GTS-R, however for that 2yr period it was the GTS-R.

There was a GTS, GTS-X and GTS-R in the HR31.

Obviously Nissan didn't design the R32 GTR/RB26 overnight however there are certainly similarities carried across, engines are bolt in/bolt out virtually as an example. So certainly some things were kept near the same. Diff was similar in terms of R200 short/long nose etc.

So certainly some was same, and there was certainly lots different.

A HR31 GTS-R is closer to a GTR than a DR30/KP is to a GTR for instance if that's what you mean?

That made me miss my old R31.

The film is very well shot and edited, most people not involved with photography/film-making wouldn't appreciate just how much time goes into simply setting up shots, particularly rig & moving dolly shots. Let alone editing it together so it flows well, then timing for music to come in and sync with video, etc, etc.

As a few others have mentioned, the music was pretty unbalanced compared to the rest of the clip and quite loud. Some more profile shots in the garage would have been good, eg. direct shots of front, side, rear etc. And it would have been good if you'd been able to merge onto a freeway/100 zone so you could give the car a bit of stick, obviously with the location you had to drive pretty sedately. Exterior shots of same would have been nice to hear the car from outside where it's noisiest.

Apart from those nitpicks it's a nice short film of a very clean car.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
