so i am currently cutting the plugs off my factory injector loom and crimping/attaching new plugs for my id1000s.

im a sparky by trade so have no problems make new connections but im confused on polarity.

my id1000s are polarity sensitive and have + and - marked on the injector head at the corrosponding pins. in my factory loom i need to know if the common grey cable that is shared between all injectors the negative or positive???

is the single wire that is dedicated to each injector positive or negative?

i just cant remember if the injectors work on switched the earth or switching the active.

just looking at some wiring diagrams now and it looks to me like the wire that is common between the 6 injectors is the + and the individual wire to each injector is -

(they work by the ecu switching off/on an earth)

????

sound right?

I had the same issue with my ID1000's, I asked the injector specialist and he told me not to worry as its just a coil with no reason to suggest a polarity on the plug as either way would energise it. I still wired them up as per the plug though and obviously have no issue.

Im temporarily running the stock turbo at the moment until my GTX comes this week and it idles perfectly on ethanol with the 1000's.

yer sweet i wired them up with + in correct position but so hopefully no dramas. i wish they came with a patch loom like my haltech lol.

i hate make looms. im too anal so ive spent 8 hours on it today ( im still going) cause im just not quiet happy with how it looks on top of the motor so i keep changing it lol.

tape.... no tape.

split tubing...... no split tubing.

heat shrink..... no heat shrink.

combination of all of the above...... nar looks shit.

ill keep working away and post some high res pics of loom and loom on motor when im done.

cheers guys

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
