madcabbie
Hey guys, I am thining of buying a Skyline R32 Gts-t, and just found your site....Very cool site by the way. Most impressed. Anyway, Just wondering what sort of car are they to drive? I know it seems stupid, but I always like the look and performace of them, but I would rather here if you guys have had problems. Are they easy to modify? Are they easy to drive. You know. Since you never find these things out till after we buy one and hand over our cash after a 10 minute test drive. I am 35 with 60% NCb so insurance shouldn't be too high I hope. But i am after a car thats fast straigh outta the blocks, but one that I can play with later on and upgrade without a shitload of hassles. Thanks guys :bat: :sadam: :bat: :ufo: Mate I love your ICONs too...so cool......glad I found this place Dave out Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/36222-crazy/ Share on other sites
Merli
The R32 GTS-t isn't very fast "straight outta the blocks"... But with a few modifications it can definitely hold it's own... What cars have you previously owned? By that, I'm trying to get a feel of what kind of power you've experienced before and better point you into the right direction. I have a feeling an R32 GTR would be better suited for you... They have a lot more torque and come on boost a lot harder (but later) than the GTS-t. Messiah
Some people might not agree with me on this one, but if i were buying a gtst i'd take an R33. Sure they're as common as muck, but for the little bit extra cash you get a slightly newer car with roughly the same power. If your set on a 32 tho, i agree with merli, get a GTR, it will cost you a few grand more than a r33 gtst, but its lighter and faster. Plus with yr insurance it shouldnt be too pricey. Plus add 1500 to your purchase price for your new exhaust from the turbo back, if it doesnt have one already and you have a nice base you can drive on for a bit until you get some cash together for the expensive bits. madcabbie
Hey thanks for the quick responses guys, i see you are real fans. To answer Merli's questio, I haven't had many cars due to work but have a EF falcon V6 at the moment and have driven My brothers 400+ hp XB falcon UTE. Plus others cars I had were GTI swift and 74 929 mazda (yuck - non rotary). But I am serious about my next car being a Import 4 and the Skyline is top of the list. I would love the GT-R but I am limitied with a budget of about $17500-$20000 to spend so I thought I might start with a GTS-t. There are 2 other cars on my shopping list but you might want to skip reading this bit. They are the Nissan Pulsar GTi-R and the MR 2 Turbo. All in my limite. Thanks again guys and gals. :devfu: Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/36222-crazy/#findComment-722341 Share on other sites
FATGTS-R
If you want quick outta the blocks the GTi-R supposedly runs in the mid thirteen second bracket straight out of the factory. Thats GTR fast.
