Hi all,

Im getting my r34 gt-t shortly and have future plans for it. My aim is to get around 350kw at the wheels.

Anyway i have already purchased an emanage with software, harnesses etc and im wondering if the emanage is going to do the job and get the results i want. If not ill just have to sell it and get a wolf or PFC

Thanks

Brendan

i believe the emanage will hack it but the issue is do u know people that can tune it well??? that is the main problem with some ecus some people cant tune them, i say talk to some preformance shops or dyno tuners etc...see what they have to say. Also good info can be found in the HPI DVD's And HPI Magazines one thier r34 gtt project...unless u have seen them already, they have some good info and came close to your goal of 300rwkw.

Well im planning to do all this over the next yr. My original plans were to only slightly modify it but now i have a better income they changed

Im going work out exactly much money ill have over the next year and how im going to spend it.

I was thinking along the lines of a HKS GT3040 as i will eventually get around to getting forged internals.

My car should arrive sometime next month so while i have time on my hands i want to start planning.

No, the E-manage will not hack it.

For the HP you are chasing you will need bigger capacity injectors. E-manage doesn't support this. For what you want, Power FC, Microtech or Wolf are popular choices. Piggybacks & sensor benders rely on the factory ECU which has limitations. A fully programmable standalone is what you need.

Your budget is very optimistic.

that ecu will cost you say minimum $1200 (used price)

Tuning & AFM/MAP sensor $600

Injectors say $1200-2000+ if you're lucky enough to find bigass injectors to suit the Neo (R33 RB25 injectors are different and far more common)

Brakes & supension will need upgrading to make it tractable at that sort of power. $2000+

Fuel pump of course $300

Forged & balanced internals + gaskets/bearings etc. if you expect it to last beyond a week $2000+

A Twin plate clutch $1200 (used price).

Labour (unless you can do it all yourself) $2000+

There's 10 large - before you have a turbo, manifold, wastegate, front exhaust section & new undies.

you CAN get a complete RB26 for $6000. The GT-t gearbox has the same tough internals as the GTR. ECU's are cheap as. I would recommend consulting a specialist workshop & telling them exactly how you wish to use the vehicle. circuit/drag/motorkhana/street/or a bit of any or all.

You'll still need to budget for suspension & braking mods of course, and you'll want to rebuild the turbos with inconel wheels (a la nismo) but a lot less dicking around altogether,

& you might be able to afford those new undies...

mmmkay ??

The E-manage does enable you to use higher flowing injectors. Up to 150% of original injector capacity stated by GReddy but in reality they do support larger than that limit.

For the money the E-manage is a great bit of kit and very easy to program.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
