I am thinking of putting an alarm into my r33, and i have done some research, for the central locking part we will need an actuator for the driver side,

and i noticed that most of the alarm systems dont come with an actuator, does that mean i have to get my own one?

and is there any wiring diagram for r33 here?

cheers

yes your car needs a door motor on the drivers door you can buy a single door motor kit from jaycar and can be used on most alarms i do hundreads of skyline alarms in sydney any questions just ask me

alright if you've seen hundreds of skyline alarm installs maybe you, or anyone could help me with my problem.

i was trying to install extra LED lights on to the light that comes on around the key ignition thingy when you unlock the car and turns off after approx 10sec of shutting the door (not really sure what thats called) but i think i shorted it but without blowing a fuse... theres still a little bit of power going to the light but not enough to fully power it or any others.

and i have no idea what i've done.

sad face.

what version 33?

and for the fellow that's done hundreds of cars - ABN or employer please..

I can vouch for hundreds of them - been working on these cars for the past 11 yrs.

if its a S2 then you have probably popped the smart entrance module and that's not a good thing.

Adding an actuator to the drivers door is one option but a poor one. The angle at which you need to mount the aftermarket actuator makes it unreliable. The actuator rod that conects to the original door locking rod will snap off after a while.

A beter option is to tap into the existing system. The car already has actuators in both doors and they work well. The trick is to feed a signal into the central locking module from the new alarm. I think I can figure out the connections if I had a circuit diagram for the R33. I have been searching for ages now for this circuit diagram, but no avail. The "chassis" manual for the R33 is rare and no electronic version seems to be available online. Those who have hard copies are keeping the manual close to their chess!

chris the compliance shop that did my car wired the drivers convience module out of the loop, I had to open up the drivers door to find the hack they did to over ride it. pm for how they did it.

returned it to normal now . also the light around the key surround is easy to fix. I changed mine to Blue LED, looks way better now.

done heaps of r33s and only ever seen 2 with a factory door motor in the drivers door and you can put the aftermarket door motor dowm the bottom and it lines exactly up strait and have never had any problems or had to go back and fix any they all have a factory switich not motor even 32 33 and all 34s have a factory motor exept n1

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
