hey guys,

im currently on my probationary licence which means its illegal for me to drive one but hopefully when i get my full licence i can buy one

ive done some research as to what different types of gtr's are out there and theres quiet a few, and i was just wondering if anyone knows whether the gtr r34 will appreciate in value?

ive noticed that the z-tune nismo model is the best one but they are very expensive since theres only 20 made and i wouldnt have the money for one, probably impossible to even look at one in real like

The M-spec Nur model seems right, not too expensive and the clock goes up to 320 and its rare which is what im after

however because there are only 250 made is this model likely to appreciate? the orginal gtr r34 are great cars but i dont want to settle for one because everyone will want/have one by then

but if the origianl gtr do appreciate then i wouldnt mind getting one, considering they are relatively rare and still a great car to have

cheers for any feedback!

well... not many R34 GTR were made compared to most Jap Performance cars and the fact that there are still sort after in Jap land

but R34 GTR is not a sort after european car or something..so i doubt values will go up anytime soon....if ever

but compared to most Jap performance cars R34 GTR's have kept there value i mean your still looking at a 99 model in a good colour in the 45K-50K mark, that is not bad :worship:

when you keep in mind that a Brand New WRX can be had for 46K driveway or a near brand new Evo can be had for same money....

PS - got mine after 4 skylines and lot of saving by the way...wish i could buy one when i was in my 20's... but good for you

I dont know any p-plater that can look at a M-Spec Nur and say...it doesnt seem too expensive.

IF:

Money your mummy and daddy have given you money over your life, thats now yours, its still mummy and daddy funded.

Money that they gave you to buy your first car...you guessed it...as above

If your sticking heroin balloons in your bum to make that much money....they gonna pop one day

If your sticking man bits in your bum to make coin as a prostitute...Freddy Mercury aint about anymore...the aids got him.

Lol

I'm in my early 20's (just) and I said the same thing your saying 5 years ago whilst on my p's. I was wrong. I'm glad I waited til was in a good finical situtatiom before I bought mine.

I think you underestimate just how much gtr's cost, to buy, maintain and run. They also def wont appreciate any time soon. 20 years maybe....but not now.

not having a go at the young guys in here, but i have a question. how much of your own expenses do you pay? do you pay for groceries? do you pay rent? do you pay for electricity, internet, etc? or do you simply pay a small amount a week in board which covers all that? if yes for this last question, then in a large way your parents are helping you pay for your car. this goes for the young kids that have saved up house deposits too. it's easy to say you paid for your own car/house when your parents pay for everything else leaving you lots of spare cash to save.

on topic though, it's going to take quite a few years for them to appreciate in value, and in that time, if you take into account the rego and insurance you would pay on it over that time, you would probably still end up losing money on it.

All. moved out of home when i was 17 and have payed my way since then.

After re-reading my post, its does sound a bit bragish...which wasn't what i was trying to convey...I was simply trying offer advice to not to rush into a purchase, make sure you can really afford it before you make the decision. I agree with mad082: If you still live with your parents or rely on your parents for any sort of monetary support (other than the occasional free family meal  ), you should not be forking out circa $50k for a car.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
