Done. Also replaced the pump with one we new worked. Still no love.

Relays have also been replaced.

Can they pull the error code with a Consult 2 or 3, or attempt the code reading procedure & count the blinks?

C1206 via a Launch X431

A quick google of C1206 seems to suggest its an ABS code; whether or not thats actually a fault in the ATESSA system then I'm not so sure.

Regarding headlights; I personally take the front bar off and then take the entire assembly out - but my hands arent exactly small and dexterous :P

Confused.

C1206 is not a Nissan error code (they start with P).

If it is P1206, that points to an error in "Injector Cycle Cylinder #6"

Have a look at this site for Nissan error codes

http://www.permoveo.ltd.uk/tabid/122/OBD-Error-Code/p1206/Diagnostics/Nissan/Default.aspx

Still doesn't explain why the 4WD light is on.

The Synchro switch isn't pressed it is? (Silly question I know...)

C1206 is a Ford code

Headlights, just dive in from the back.

I thought you may say that...

The car is fitted with HID's and they seem to give of a pink light...

LOL @ pink light...maybe its aftermarket globes...

My 4WD light comes on intermittently too...I'm going to have to bleed/flush and do all the checks and find out WTF is it doing...

Na, you can see the bulb behind the reflector and inside the globe is a rod instead of a normal wire...

Ok I'll check it out.

Got the car back to Adelaide with the light on, we replaced what we could mechanically so what ever the problem is it's electrical...

How do I do a diagnostic check? Where is the blinking light? I assume on the ECU it's self?

Cheers.

Mike.

I thought you had tiny girl hands? Aren't you still in Sri Lanka anyway?

Mike, have a search through tthe forums, I've seen that a few times, and check out m35stagea.info, might be on there. I know there is a huge listing to all the fault codes and the procedure.

Other than that how's the car?

Have a read of this thread as it has lots of information on the fault codes.

The light that flashes is the one of the engine on your dash.

Cheers

Andy

Thanks for the tips, i would normally check m35info but the page does not work on iPads, cant even login.

Car is great, no real issues as yet...

Spent all day removing the aftermarket DVD/Sat Nav/Monitor and ALL the wiring that went with it:

Then moved over to the drivers side where i found some wires which seem to lead to know where and others which i am having some trouble identifying what they are and why they are there...

These two parts were under the drivers side dash, 1 marked with Nissan and the other blank, not sure if they are standard or a factory upgrade.

This was not plugged into anything, found under the dash with a random wire spliced in:

wired back to this (it wires into a relay which is plugged into the harness which attaches to the seat belt and the air bag sensor):

This is another aftermarket feature, it seems to be wired into a stock location but the switch is not standard, my thoughts are that the driving lights were put in after and they couldn't be bothered getting the standard switch:

Also found this button which seems to do nothing:

I can't help you with all the funny stuff going on with your wiring, but the button in the last pic is used to make the mirrors fold in when you lock the car / arm the alarm with the button on your key. This works in addition to the switch on the LHS of the steering wheel which you use to manually fold the mirrors in.

Cheers, Leon.

    • Have a vb in honour of the car comming back
    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.
