Hey SAU,

Just need some opinions on what to get, I know it's a matter of personal preference, but I really can't decide.

I was originally planning on getting some CR Kai's, but long story short, I didn't end up buying them (Obviously).

So, the car is a white R34, fairly stock, have some BC BR coilovers coming and some dark tint planned, just having a hard time deciding on what wheels + Color.

I actually bit the bullet and bought some Lenso D1R's, but changed my mind luckily Mick @ Taleb tyres said it would be fine to change them, as they have not been sent out and the fronts aren't in stock.

So I'm currently looking at some Koya Drift Teks, but can't decide on what color suits white best, torn between Black, Silver and white (they don't sell them in white, but can get them painted later).

Black

Silver

Some white cars with black wheel look amazing and other put me off, same with silver.

I can't find any pics of black Drift teks on a white r34, but did find this.

Is that black, or custom painted?

or should I just stick with the D1R's?

Some pics here and here, they don't look bad, but the more I look at them the more I get a weird feeling from them lol?, like the spokes are to rectangular or it's too silver or something :domokun:, maybe they look better in person.

Any opinion is appreciated!

For the people who cbf reading the whole thing,

Have a White R34, planning on getting some wheels either black or Silver Drift Teks or stick with Silver Lenso D1R's I already payed for (But can change).

Here are some White GTR's with black rims, they looks nice, but a lot of work has been done to them, mostly subtle ones that you don't really notice, but really make the car.

Might go the safe route and get some Silver Drift Teks and maybe get them powder-coated later, no one has anymore opinions to add?

How do you guys think a white R34 with black wheels, lowered, Dark tinted windows, black front lip and smoked set of indicators would look (Probably like most of the pics above) as that what I was planning on doing?

Ever thought of Gold wheels on White car?

Check for pics of GTRsean, White R34 with Gold CE28Ns > magic colour combo! Pics on yesterday's NSW > Cruise Wrapup.

Black wheels yes, for a mean look. Gold wheels for a smart look.

Id be considering a bright colour tbh, black silver white gold, all done to death...

when Ive seen a coloured rim it always catches my eye in a good way, orange rim on white looks good, so would other colours, always make sure you can tie whatever rim colour in with other parts on your car be it engine, bonnet, or car graphic colours..

Appreciate the suggestions guys,

I went the safe route and went with silver 18" Drift Teks + Nitto NT05 tyres, I think black would look a bit "try-hard" on a almost completely stock R34, but future mods are planned.

I can get them powder coated any color later anyway and the stock black on the drift teks are glossy, I would rather more of a matte black.

Pics ?

Also what size and offsets did u get ? :)

Ordered them online @ Taleb Tyres, so haven't got them yet, should be here late this week or early next week though.

Got,

[F] 18 x 8.5 +34

[R] 18 x 9.5 35

Not the most aggressive offets, but I prefer less of a concave + poke, as it is a daily.

Would still be interested in seeing them on, looking at getting a very similar setup on my white GTT as well, I have decided on them in Black and will prob order them with my Tax refund :D

I will be sure to post some pics when I get them, despite a lot of people saying every man and their dog having Drift Teks/Rota P45's, I have yet to see any in person and goggling doesn't yield many results.

I hope they arrive soon, they actually told me the front D1R's were arriving next week (Which was last week), but I assume they didn't get them in (No updates or anything), so I changed my order, sent an extra $350 to cover the extra cost of the Drift Teks and got a reply that said, I quote "THANKS", didn't seem very professional, hope my money doesn't get jacked lol.

if its the same Taleb Tyres as the forum member here I wouldn't be too worried, I ordered some Toyo R888's through him but I know there were in stock and paid on last Thursday and they arrived Monday at my door in Brisbane. Even had fragile sticker tape on them which I found funny.

Yea, I'm pretty sure they're the Taleb Tyres on the forums?, also on JDMST, that's why I bought from them, probably just being paranoid :P.

Wheels came today, look a lot better in person, embarrassingly enough I don't have the tools to take the wheel nuts off, haha.

Car didn't come with one and none of the tools are at home, so will have to wait.

Pics to come.

    • Congrats on the career change!  I did something similar at the start of the year too, left IT / corporate after nearly 2 decades. Soooo when's the motor coming out for the spark plug change?
    • Hi guys, long time no post as per usual! It's been a busy year so far, the biggest thing being a new job.  After 28 years in the automotive industry I decided it was time for a change.  I was losing faith in the industry and where it's heading.  Now in a completely different industry (electrical) working for a company that manufacture water pump contollers.  Not as sexy as cars but it's an interesting,  challenging industry. I now don't work Saturdays which is a bonus!  It's still 50-55 hours a week but having Saturdays ack after 28 years of working them is awesome!   No news on the GT-R but i did decide to add some more JDM goodness into my life....           1990 300 ZX.  She's not perfect but for a 35 year old car she ain't bad!  Just going to tidy it up a bit and enjoy it.  It's currently auto but will start stockpiling everything for a manual swap. It WILL distract me even further from the GT-R but im hoping not for too long! It somewhat proves a 6'8" freak can fit in a 300 ZX.  Sort of...  I drove it home from the previous owners house in Melbourne via Black Spur and Merton Gap (2 awesome bits of Victorian twisty road) and it was amazing!  Handles so well!!!   I don't think it would be worthy of a full build page but I'll post up some of the upgrades here if anyone is interested?  Cheers guys!
    • End game is to: - Remove all the slop from old worn parts - Adjust setup so that the wheels actually fit and the car is drivable (currently it is not because of the extreme rubbing on the guards).   Progress over the last couple of days, removed the rear hubs! Next steps: - Buy bushings - Replace bushings/bearings on hub - Reinstall
