The one thing i disagree with cops doing is holding back and hoping for you to do stupid shit. The cops should have pulled them over immediately eg for putting hands out and legs and driving dangerously. Cops secretly want you to run so they can chase and have a reason to treat the roads like a go kart track all for the reason of "chasing down".

Stupid bike rider =P, always check behind for a commodore or falcon before having a lil fun on the roads....

i also check for a silver camry, black evo 10, silver golf and a long list of other under cover cars that they use.

I echo this sentiment exactly. And who cares about swearing? I curse like a sailor at work, why is it different for police when they're in the privacy of their HWP car?

i totally disagree. they shouldn't be swearing they should've been saying "oh darn" and "what a silly goose", LOL. if i was the cop it would've just been strings of swear words, not just the occasional swear word.

i think you can also sort of tell from this thread they type of people who, when pulled over for a random stop, are generally polite, and those who probably get all defensive and start by saying "what'd you pull me over for? i ain't dun nuffin wrong? you're just picking on my coz i drive a hektic skyline" LOL

Lol @ The bloke on the bike running for just dicking around then! If he had done shit all wrong, then he had shit all to be worried about. Running from the police was the only reason they were in a pursuit. I know from my shitty experience with police pursuits, that they well and truely are not worth it. If i had stopped, i probably would have been on a 3 month holiday from my license. Instead, i got 2 years which i deserved. Another thing worth noting is because MOST POLICE break the pursuit, i was of the opinion i could easily get away like i had previously. If i hadnt had the one that chased me down, god knows how many times i would have done it.

hm, until you are polite and still you meet a dick of a cop who insists your stock front mount is a modification.

i say, there needs to be a transparent audit on the attitudes some cops have towards import owners. Why is it that I get shoo-ed away when i found parts off my stolen car for sale online, and get told "we are doing our best" but then never hear from them ever again? But i get pulled about half the times i take my R out for a drive. If they have the time to be out pulling over import drivers, i'm sure they can find the time hunting down some dodgy thieves and resellers.

As said the motor biker is a idiot, but it would be interesting to see what a police review would say about the constables actions in the chase....

Remember people, give way to emergency vehicles but "only when safe to do so".

Just reading between the lines OT, I gather that misuse of public money is going into gestapo policing methods? - when in fact their job description could be altered into more constructive use?

I'm assuming by "more constructive use" you mean a reformation of the duties of police?

Remove their free play time in the squad cars? haha

I'm keen to know all your opinions on this one...

What a story to brag to your mates, and grand children! come off it, this is the sort of thing a cop dreams of, chasing the baddies etc etc.. even though it turned out to be just some knucklehead who seems to have watched a bit too much Tron.

loved the un-edited version too, "f*ckin ram him, ram him!!" lol

I feel like they need to be told that they're giving the other top cops a very VERY poor name...

You do realize their orders/directive comes from the Top Brass?

It’s not giving them a bad name at all, it’s doing exactly what the majority of the community are lobbying for.

Enough of the “cop/police threads” that just turn into a story for “this is your life”.

If you want to do something… Then gather together similar minded people in your local electorate. Then go lobby your local parliamentary representative.

    • Pay careful attention to the kinematics of that upper arm. The bloody things don't work properly even on a normal stock height R32. Nissan really screwed the pooch on that one. The fixes have included changing the hole locations on the bracket to change the angle of the inner pivot (which was fairly successful but usually makes it impossible to install or remove the arm without unbolting the bracket from the tower, which sucks) and various swivelling upper arm designs. ALL the swivelling upper arm designs that look like a capital I (with serifs) suck. All of them. Some of them are in fact terribly unsafe. Even the best one of them (the old UAS design) shat itself in short order on my car. The only upper arm that works as advertised and is pretty safe is the GKTech one. But it is high maintenance on a street car. I'm guessing that a 600HP car as (stupidly, IMO) low as you are going is not going to be a regular driver. So the maintenance issues on suspension parts are probably not going to be a problem. But you really must make sure that however your fairly drastically modded suspension ends up, that the upper arms swing through an arc that wants to keep the inner and outer bolts parallel. If the outer end travels through an arc that makes that end's bolt want to skew away from parallel with the inner bolt, you will build up enormous binding and compressing forces in the bushes, chew them out and hate life. The suspension compliance can actually be dominated by the bush binding, not the spring rate! It may be the case that even something like the GKTech arm won't work if your suspension kinematics become too weird, courtesy of all the cut and shut going on. Although you at least say there's no binding now, so maybe you're OK. Seeing as you're in the build phase, you could consider using R33/4 type upper arms (either that actual arm, OEM or aftermarket) or any similar wishbone designed to suit your available space, so alleviate the silliness of the R32 design. Then you can locate your inner pivots to provide the correct kinematics (camber gain on compression, etc).
    • The frontend wouldn't go low enough because the coilover was max low and the upper control arm would collapse into itself and potentially bottom out in the strut tower. I made a brace and cut off the kingpin and then moved the upright down 1.25" and welded. i still have to finish but this gives an idea. Now I can have a normal 3.25" of shock travel and things aren't binding. I'm also dropping the lower arm and tie rod 1.25".
    • Motor and body mockup. Wheel fitment and ride height not set. Last pic shows front ride height after modifying the front uprights to make a 1.25" drop spindle.
    • Here's Logans Silvia with R32 Drivetrain, mine will be slightly lower (more angle). He was constantly blowing the RH axles at around 16deg. I want to avoid this.
