Just drove past the remains of an early Model laser that has been T-boned by a green S14. Nothing left of the drivers side of the laser. Police are there now and drakeford is blocked heading into tuggers from my end of town.

My thoughts go out...

Also not 100% sure but the S14 may have been wearing p-plates. Will check on the way home in a few mins. Had big chrome wheels though.

So if anyone knows someone with a car like that might wanna give them a call and see if they are ok

my gf lives on tuggeranong hill. that t-intersection has a major t-bone accident every couple months. in the past few months there has been more than 5 including 2 with people needing to be cut out of the car.

people start picking up speed down the hill and those tunring into traffic often miss calculate the speed people are coming down. more often than not the person coming down is speeding.

    • Yeah, Duncan is helping sell me back to Android devices. I've hated the whole Android head units due to their speed issues. Even in my old Hyundai Kona (2022 model), it behind the scenes was Android, and slow and shitty to start up. Once running wasn't bad, but still a good 15 to 30 seconds.
    • My roof rails are off atm on the E39 until the rust is fixed. I did find another little bit of surface rust under the rails when I took them off. As @soviet_merlin said I'd just leave them alone unless you're planning on ensuring they're properly sealed. I was on the fence about leaving them off as the delete is still a thing in BMW E39's but I feel like the car is missing something (er, it is, der) with them off and I'm looking forward to putting them back on.
    • Man, I miss having a phone that fits into my hand!
    • The speed this thing starts up is making me want to replace my old one. Though my old one immediately kicks into reverse camera as soon as reverse is engaged, it's clearly not part of the android system. For everything else though, starting up, connecting to hotspot, opening maps, starting music in spotify is easily a ~2 minute affair.
    • Yeah well per the video it took 15s for the stock unit to start up....even if I give it a few seconds discount for starting that is at least 12 sec before you get a reverse camera if you are trying to leave a park.  The android unit is way faster, but 2016 for the stock unit is a long time ago in consumer electronics
