...i hate it when you pull a car length and a half on someone and they pull up next to you and say "...i've only got an exhaust, running on stock boost mate..."

so farken wot! you still got owned and a car length is quite a shitload especially only through 1st, 2nd and maybe abit of 3rd...

sleepers...........wolf in sheepskin. i heard my mates who are a lot more knowledgeable about cars talk about what they think is the ultimate sleeper. apparently there is this type of toyota work van that can have the Soarer engin fitted to it, cant remember if its the V8 or twin turbo 6. but either way its an upgrade from the 4 it has in it!!!!! anyone know what this is??

lots of people say that they like sleepers, but there are very few around, most skylines have cosmetic mods.

I went to trade school with a guy who had a sigma with a valiant 360 in it, still registered as a 4.

A friend i used to surf with back in the day had a crap, rusty rx4 with faded paint but with a $5000 13b turbo engine in it. The look on peoples faces when they got utterly destroyed by that car was gold. Especially other rotory potatos.

last night>

4 guys in V6 VS commocrap (with bodykit and rims for extra power) driving along next to me wind down their window and say "next lights mate"

Me: what about them

Tools: wanna race?

Me: who?

Tools: us!

Me: not really

I was almost tempted to educate them... but... I am a good boy now;)

    • This. The R34 handbrake icon DOES come up when the brake fluid level is low. You might be sitting right on that threshhold. I have been down this diagnosis path and this was the solution (and it was pretty much as full as your picture is to begin with).
    • Unfortunately the cavaet to that is that while any scan tool should be able to read the code, the workshop will need a consult plug to OBD socket adapter. You don't have a location on your profile, where are you based?
    • @Haggerty this is your red flag. In MAP based ECU's the Manifold pressure X RPM calculation is how the engine knows it is actually...running/going through ANY load. You are confusing the term 'base map' with your base VE/Fuel table. When most people say 'base map' they mean the stock entire tune shipped with the ECU, hopefully aimed at a specific car/setup to use as a base for beginning to tune your specific car. Haltech has a lot of documentation (or at least they used to, I expect it to be better now). Read it voraciously.
    • I saw you mention this earlier and it raised a red flag, but I couldn't believe it was real. Yes, the vacuum signal should vary. It is the one and only load signal from the engine to the ECU, and it MUST vary. It is either not connected or is badly f**ked up in some way.
    • @Haggerty you still haven't answered my question.  Many things you are saying do not make sense for someone who can tune, yet I would not expect someone who cannot tune to be playing with the things in the ECU that you are.  This process would be a lot quicker to figure out if we can remove user error from the equation.
