Just got back from the preview of the new Aston Martin DB9 at [spelling] belia Volvo in Hawthorn tonight, and what a car...unfortunatley anything parked in the same vicinity as an AM Vanqish suddenly doesn't look so glamourous. But at $750K I guess you'd want it to.

Brought the camera, but decided against taking pics, coz most people had there noses so far up they were blocking the light. Must say though did meet some really amuzing older blokes one in particular a "CEO of a major Transport Co" who was such a laugh, in his late 50's more a rev head than half of us here.

All in all, if anyone's got a spare $400K lying around, and demand hand build craftsmanship with the typical thunder tone of an AM V12, check out the new DB9.

me n my mates were thinking of pitching in and we came up with about 6 grand that we had spare between us. We plan to buy the tyre or badge or sunvisor of the Phantom at this stage. We'll aquire the car piece by piece, at one piece per year. At that rate, we should own it in 168 years. I hope they find a cure for death, coz I'm gonna be going to my Grave unhappy if I'm about 50 parts away from owning a phantom.

i've driven down the street in an R34 (elizabeth st) and I've driven down the same street around the same time on a different day in a Bentleigh... lol trust me, the bentleigh turned more heads.

As far as bang for buck the GTR is great, but when you have oodles of moola oozing out of your orifices, that means shit... bring on the Bugatti Veyron 8.0L W16. Two narrow V8's welded together to form a W shaped Engine with Quad turbo's takes the car from 0-100 in under 3s and 0-300 in under 14s. The speedo goes up to 450km/h and the top speed is 406km/h. Oh and get this theres a gauge for the amount of power the car is making and it goes up to 1001bhp (this is because Bugatti wanted it to not only be able to get to 1000bhp, but also over it). It does 1250Nm of torque and is a permanent AWD.

Now if only I could find the 1million Euro's it'd set me back, my Volkswagon dealer will apparently bring one down for me, free of charge... how nice of em.

Oh and have you seen Masserati's new Ferrari beating McLaren lookalike? Its called the Masserati MC12 Stradale.

Hmm right now i'm torn between a Rolls Royce Phantom, Rolls Royce 100EX, Bugatti Veyron or a Masserati MC12 Stradale...

/me gives up n goes back to his R32 GTS...

    • Pads for R32 GTS-t, R32 GT-R non V-Spec (Sumitomo), R33 GTS-t and R34 GT-t are all interchangeable. R34 GT uses a 2x piston caliper, hence it didn't fit.
    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
