Hey all I read some contradicting information yesterday the cams manual (book) for 3D stated that the maximum engine capacity for a turbo multi valve engine was 2520cc but the online specs state 3529cc and do not mention anything about a different spec for multi valve engines.

Have the specs changed?

Also there is a multiplication factor for multi valve engines (1.3) and the 1.7 for forced induction.

Have cams removed the multi valve engine bit for sports sedans? Or do you still have to do the 1.3 x cc x 1.7 and it is not on the online specs.

I've approached them about my F6 engined R34 skyline thats coming along. I've been told I'll be able to run it providing there is no objections from current competitors.

I'll tread carefully but seriously it's not going to do low 29's at the creek so they are safe in their dinosaur 6L Chevys for a while yet.

Just have to be cautious around ex taxi owners.... :P

absolutely, irs a shame more of the 3D cars don't take supersprints like the World Time Attck Challenge ™ more seriously. They could run 2-3 sec quicker on the right tyres for sure.

Remember lap records like "low 29s" only count when set in race setup, during a race. Not a single lap with no fuel on super cheater tyres.

Put a national level sports sedan on a super soft r comp tire even with their limited aero and it'll smack the shit out of the worlds precious time attack cars.

Why the hate. noone ever said they were the fastest cars on the planet. Time attack is simply another form of motorsport That a lot of pople on this forum and others enjoy immensely.

I bet a gt500 with r compound tyres would smack the shit outta those sports sedans too....oh wait. :rolleyes:

No hate here, I like time attack cars there is 4 of them in my workshop currently.

I just can't stand the hype about smashing v8 lap records blah blah.

How can you compare a tube chassied mid engine sports cars on slicks the size of 44 gallon drums to cars built on factory chassis runnig r type compound.

If they couldnt beat a time attack car they should hang their head in shame.

And either I am blind or the sports sedans I am thinkig of have more aero than a 747.

And Noel...don't forget "Time Attack" means something to you banana benders that is different to the rest of the country :P

I agree Duncan. We, along with parts of the usa and britain embraced the ethos of japanese time attack to a greater degree than the rest of the country as evident by the big dollar builds and the popularity of the time attack/sprint series we run up here.

We have been running our R33 in Sports Sedan - state (NSW) for a couple of years, just competed at national event (breifly) at Eastern Creek, Shannons Round as Sports Sedan.

Qualified 4th in the wet - gear box lasted a lap and a half in the dry / another!!

State point score / class is based on times whereas national is based on full floor and have separate 4wd class - have had for quite some time.

Our taxi is 4 seconds quicker at EC on touring car control tyre, but ran out of bits to compete engine build for Shannons last week, if anyone has got a hollinger / GTR please PM

      HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.

      The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.

Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?

      By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol

      No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
