 eww

heeeey I am new to SAU and I do own an r33, BUT i wont be entering it this year, anyways I want to know if people from the public can go to this event and watch it like spectators at any drag/drift day? I would love to know how much it would cost per day or for the WHOLE weekend for an adult or 2 just to watch and be able to look at the beauty of the cars and enjoy the day without having to race or enter their car? that is my main concern?

just to watch its free as Ash said in the other thread, it will only be grip racing @ Winton and to spectate that event is also free

I'm not planning on entering the track day or i think show and shine as my car isn't show worthy i don't need the lol's

Welcome aboard Mikey

ok awesome Ryan

does everyone realise that i will be trying to head out @ 5am in the morning so we can try to be there about 3:30pm

straight up the freeway fuel stop @ horsham then all the way to destination

Adelaide > Horsham 429km's 4hr 56min as per google maps >>Here<<

Horsham > Shepparton 332km's 4hr 44min as per google maps >>Here<<

^...Ahh nup didn't realise!... do we need to be there by a particular time?

I sorta was thinking leave about 7.30-8am get there round dinner time unless there is some sort of sign in for the afternoon?

I would rather get there early in the afternoon and have time to have a bit of a look around town, few drinks a nanna nap, or all of the above. Arriving at dinner time is a PITA, especially to catch up with other SAUers there (like Ash) before it gets too late in the day. I also want to head to a car wash to give the beast a wash after the long journey. And I agree with Steve - driving early in the morning is much better for traffic etc also.

Weve no idea what time well be heading over, most likelt around the 7am mark. But id say wed do the usual stop in horsham and grab food, fuel and a walk while where there. not a long enough drive to warrant several stops really

Fair call..I guess you northern folk have further to travel too... I can meet you lot on the freeway near stirling or something!

sounds like a plan Martin so I might join you with my car......we prob have a 1/2 hr head start on the northies

    • Hi GTSBoy, Excuse my ignorance but what does a "Bad" Knee point mean ?
    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
