get some lower rated speakers, ie. nothing flash or powerful because those better speakers....require more power to move. hence u need an amp.

something like 30watts RMS off the headunit i'd recommend.

i sold some $300 rear speakers for a set of $50 speakers cos i wasnt gonna amp them, only wanted to amp my fronts.

unfortunately, u wont get much bass from fronts sorry =/ 6x9's off the headunit will give u a bit of bass though.

Nav2k is right, don’t get any thing to big coz u will wast your time, and u will end up clipping the speakers... if u want some thing good to run off a deck i found the lanzar neo speakers really good! and u can run them off an amp later.. i have a set in the back of my skyline and i run them off a 50x4 pioneer deck... find a good set of splits for the front and a good 2 way for the back and that should do nice, but i'm sorry to say u wont get lots of bass out of this set up, add a lil sub and ya will tho :P

for $200 u can get pioneers base splits (tc-c1602) and for $90 u can get the base 2 ways (ts-g1647) this is all really low end stuff but still good value for money (prices are RRP)

$600 is a pretty small buget for full system but you should be able to pick up a set of splits, 6x9's and small amp for that if you shop around. take a week or two go to every shop ask all your mates them go back to the shop with the guy who gave you the time of day and courtesy to listem. you can save big money on gear right now as alot of brands are bringing in their new equipment, so you can get last seasons gear on special. you dont always need to buy the best brand names for a nice sound and theres money to be saved if you or a friend can do the install

He does indeed :)http://www.soundoff.net.au/site/index.htm will give you an idea - he's a registered dealer for a number of brands but can get you just about anything you want. He did the alarm and stereo in my car - he gets ALL of my auto electrical work.

Tell him I (Marc) sent you and I'll kick his butt if he doesn't look after you :(

mate, for $600 u could get something nice for a decent upgrade for a factory system.

i'd be thinking of a jaycar 4x100 amp for $350 new, a set of PG Octane R or Hertz splits for $200 new, and an alpine type S sub or something for $170 new.

wiring should cost u around $50, box for sub around $20 if u build it urself.

Look for some of these things 2nd hand if u cant stretch the budget, u should be able to find them easily, esp. the jaycar.

althernatively, u can go a smaller amp, the jaycar 4x50RMS, which will still sound very nice, theyre a bit cheaper.

The ones you have in there aren't too bad :) I was listening to a CD on the way down here.

I got the Hertz splits in mine. They do sound a bit better than I think the kenwoods you have in there at the moment, but not massively noticeable to be honest. Think you'd probably want to go for something around the $500 mark to notice the difference, or go for the amp beforehand. So I reckon go for a good amp first, see when your speakers (and not the head unit amp) are maxing out -- then consider speakers.

Amp will allow you to get clearer sound at higher volumes, which you will notice.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
