It says ray eng on the back of the rim !

It even says forged on the back

Rims are deff respeayed black... But that's how it was given to me. No gutter marks or anything !!

Last time I checked which was a while ago.. Te37's new were going for atleast 4k +

Now I was told by the person that got them for me that they were new and costed $3200... I looked at the rims and they're resprayed.. Either they were new and wanted different color I'm not sure.. Rims are immaculate.. But I still posted that they were resprayed... I'm just trying to make the same money back !

What would you say these rims are worth ?

Hey mate,

These look fake. where are the stampings around the rim?

im with plaything they look fake, need a pic of the lip that has volk embossed in it to prove or sticker

Guys, before you possibly ruin someones for sale thread you could at least search google images and you'd see that not all genuine TE37's have stampings or raised lettering around the outside of the rim.

If you thought about it, you'd realise the tooling has changed over the years and so has the markings.

Mine have no marking on the front of the rim, only on the rear and they are definitely genuine.

Hey mate,

to give you a better indication. One of the vendors on this forum is selling brand new TE37SL in 18x9.5 with rays wheel nuts and free delivery nation wdie for 3250....

Not trying to ruin your sale either, just giving you an indication of what you can get new.

Dan, TE37SLs RRP for less than regular TE37. Odd, but truth.

$3200 is steep for an unknown conditioned set of second hand Te37s though.

Could have been repaired and then repainted for all we know. Or like you said, just a colour change.

Well yeh like i said I've seen them going for alot more then Ive posted for... The rims are negotiable !! And theyre immaculate from what I can see...

Anyones more then welcome to come look at the rims and inspect for yourselves :)

Thankyou cyth3r !!

These rims are deffinetly genuine as you can tell by the stampings inside the rim with the photos I've taken!

And you're right.. Not all genuine volks have stampings on the outside..

I've told everyone what I know.. Its not like I'm hiding anything.. Could of said they're brand spanking new !

Which is what I was told but they do look resprayed

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
