Hey guys,

I'm interested in getting a FM on my series 2 R33 GTST and wondering a good place in Sydney to get it done, also how much am I looking at? Doesn't need to be brand name or fancy, just work well.

Same questions on:

EBC

Power FC

My car is stock except for adjustable BOV, Apexi CAI and full 3" exhaust so hoping with EBC, ECU and FMIC I'll get good power gains, 180rwkw maybe?

When I had those same mods as you listed (except replace EBC with a manual boost tee on 12psi), I made 192rwkw

As for a front mount, never had any problems with a china model from ebay but I'd recommend a turn flow cooler so you don't have to cut a hole for the cold pipe. Should save some hassle if you get pinged and need a RWC.

PowerFC seem to go for anywhere from $1000-$1500, add $700 on that for a tune.

Get just jap return flow, cheap and pretty good even with bigger power levels and install is pretty straight forward too im sure you could do it yourself and save some labour costs if your willing.

Yeah I wouldn't know where to start though... Does TuneHouse do installs?

Hey man,

you will get some good gains with this mod list but when it comes to coolers, spend a bit more as the cheap ones, while are capable will add alot of weight to the front end and you will feel it when you hit a pothole or speedbump: ARC is a good brand and dont go too big; just what you need.

Pick a good tuner around your area, call them and tell them about your car and schedule some time where you can go down and take 20mins of there time to have a chat.

Search this site too, theres plenty on basic mods with results.

all the best

I've got a hi low boost controller you can have for 50. Has a plate you fit into the cigarette rubbish pocket thing in the r33. Its a hybrid branded unit with two dials and hi low switch.

Awesome hybrid is good right? Does it come with wiring? Can i have model number? How long do you think it would take someone to install so I can get quoted for this?

It has all the wiring and what not. It's kind of DIY but it has 3 wires which connect directly into the engine loom(I can find out which collie wire for you). Send me a pm I'll get you pictures of the actuator, wiring and control face. Be aware this isn't the new tech hybrid stuff which cost a pretty penny, this is kind of old tech stuff it's still dual stage hi low but doesn't have the bells and whistles(gain control, LCD etc) just a simple ebc which does what it does! Hence the awesome price, even a manual boost tee cost more!

This is how I put mine in more or less. http://photos.imageevent.com/kadepunk/hybridinstallationguides/GTS%20kit.pdf

Get a hard pipe kit from ebay and the intercooler of your choice. Get a big one. Be confident and drill yourself a hole with a hole saw. Piece of piss mate.

    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
