If it is an umbrella stroller, then this shouldn't be a problem.

Prams however are a different story...

I have a full sized pram and it just about fits in mine...you have to angle it slighly when it goes in...(i.e.you cannot slide it in sideways but diagonally). Because mine just about fits, best if you try before you buy any prams.

My baby seat fits forward facing, but for a newborn, you will need that rearward facing. Again, try before you buy but car seats should be less of an issue than prams.

Good luck and congrats on the baby!

Yep I can't imagine for a second you will ever get a full size pram into the boot of a coupe.

And you won't get a rear facing capsule (which they need until they are 6 months or 9kg) in unless you have the passenger seat COMPLETELY forward (ie. basically unable to seat a passenger).

An actual baby seat (for 6mths+) fits easily and my 3 year old gets in and out easily on his own.

thanks guys for the tips.....gonna import my mother in law from india to carry my kid around....lol.....so pram problem solved however what is this rear facing seat......is that going to be a issue...

Bub must be in a rear facing capsule (most decent seats are convertible; can be flipped around) until 6 months or 9kg; once they can hold their head up by themselves you can flip them around. They do take up a bit more room in this position.

Try Safe-n-Sound; My 3 year old is still in his original seat; has removable inserts and adjustable belts.

Was convertible to capsule and also had adjustable incline, as even once you turn them around they still need to be laid back a bit for the first little while. Stay away from shit with built in visors, swivelling bases and all the wanky crap; makes them bulky and annoying (expensive too).

To give you an idea of the range of size; He's 96cm tall now, but he started at 56cms & 3.5kg. He likes his "Racing Harness" too.

The missus used a Phil&Teds 3 wheel pram; folds down flat; wheels come off easily and is light. Easily fitted in the boot of a 323 (not much bigger than you boot). All important if your missus is on the diminutive side and can't lift the pram over the boot lip (cue car damage).

I was surprised how many of the full size prams were more than 12kg; too heavy & awkward for most ladies.

Go to the shop & get your missus to fold down and lift a few dfifferent prams, if she finds it difficult now; it won't get any easier once she's got a little person yelling in her ear.

BTW congrats, they're loads of fun.

Like I said, there is no way you will get a rear facing capsule (which you HAVE to have BY LAW) in the back seat passenger side of a V35 coupe, AND get a human passenger to fit in the passenger seat. Get used to taking the missus's car once bubs is born is my advice. Or do what I did (and score some brownie points in the process) - buy her a shiny new Honda CRV to fit both kids and all their gear in :)

And in my opinion, few of the convertible capsule/car seats are much good - my advice is to go hire a capsule from the Red Cross baby shop (there is one or more in every major city), then put more money into getting a good car seat for when they are 6mths+. HOWEVER if you have a big fat bubs (my 2nd child is currently 5 months old, very long/tall and nearly 9kg!!!) then they grow out of a capsule and you HAVE to buy a convertible baby seat (as they are not yet 6 months old) that can be either forward or rear facing. But imho when the bubs is tiny and has no neck strength, a high walled capsule is the only way to go (and the ONLY type of baby capsule the Red Cross recommend).

Hey Thanks Dale and Andrew for the tips on prams and baby seats....andrew i think i will try the hire option initially.....thanks all for the wishes...hope everything goes well till the end.....hey is there any type of cushion for the seats to make it a bit higher that i can put on for the time being in the front passenger seat.....becoz as my missus gets big, it will be hard for her jump out of the low car seat in the V35....any suggestions on that???

P.S: Sorry Dale, havent got the cash to buy your NM35 Stagea.....and thanks heaps for the advices on the prams.

No worries at all Shiva. And go to the Red Cross shop for a cushion for your missus - they have all variety of baby-related things - it will blow your mind.

No worries mate; it's a bit bewildering, and they tug at the heart strings, as if not spending the absolute maximum is going to be terrible for your baby.:spank:

Lol, wasn't suggesting you buy my car; sorry if it came across like that. I don't want to sell anyway! It's too useful.

Best of luck.

lol no babies here. and wont happen for a while! i bought the stag for audio, but if i think of starting a family, im already set for a car! lol.

have fun with the new bub mate! all the best

can imagine your gonna have trouble getting any decent baby seat to fit rearward facing. Mine just about sits snug foward facing, but these cars just not built with the family man in mind.

  • 3 months later...

Hey guys after checking a few car seats, the one that is suitable for the V35, will be the safe n sound compaq....fits just fine in rear facing position and more space when forward facing.......a big relief finally....

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
