^^^^^

this here has a hotdog muffler and a cannon on the back, it would be loud/well over legal.

This one has an oval centre muffler and a cannon on the back, it would not be as loud/close to legal.

that is what it sounds like you are after, if you go to a performance shop or an exhaust shop and tell them that you want something like that they should be able to supply you with something to suit.

thnxx a lot titan.....

i think i gotta visit an exhust shop tell my wants and get a quote that should be good....

i was at first thinking that i should just buy a mufler from autobarn and get the people to put it on but then i realized it might have complications to be put on and might be too loud as well.

My HKS system cost me $1000 from just jap if I remember correctly. Installed it my self. It has a very nice note to it. I also had a hiflow cat installed later on which gave it a nice bark to it when the taps are opened but I really loved the note it had with the previous cat as well. It has never gotten me into trouble with the police either. IMO best exhaust for a gtst but maybe I'm just biased :P

Just keep your stock exhaust in the garage and if/when you do cop an epa chuck it back on for the inspection

If ypur going to go to an exhuast shop go to a decent performance one that knows what there talking about mr muffler dont know shit. You have two choices either buy a jap cat back or go to a exhust place recomended from here and get them to make an exhuast for you. As said above keep the stock one incase you ever have an epa. Forgot going to just buy a cannon from autobarn and welding to your exhuast.

DON"T BUY EXHAUST COMPONENTS FROM AUTO BARN!

What your after is a tidy 3" system with a decent muffler. You can get mufflers that don't ruin your flow but still keep the noise down. If you have a good mechanic he should be able to give you a few options or if not try find your self a tuner who know's what he's talking about. But if your after cost effectiveness have a look in the forum classifieds and/or post up a "wanted to buy" ad. Should be able to find a full system or at least a cat back cheap but imo cat backs are useless and are only good for increasing your wank factor and noise.

There's my two bob's worth, Cheers.

Jump on the just jap website and buy a 3 inch dump and cat back. Cheap, direct fit and in most cases legal.

I've got a series 2 stagea so same engine as you I've got a hks high power. Just over 90db with a single cell cat.

+1 to the silent power, but it is too quiet for me and the car doesn't sound as angry as it did when i had reinhard exhaust.

id sell it to you but you are in VIC and i cbf sending it.

Autobarn can get you anything from the trust/greddy catalogue so the trust mufflers are a good system also!

Okay I went to mufler man today tht guy has a shit load of muflers.he told me that if I put in any canon mufler I m bound to get in trouble bcz most of them are above the sound limit.he also told me that I can do the exhaust sysmten 1 by 2.so he suggested tht I get a decent mufler first, then get a cat back pipe with resonator or without depends on me then get the front pipe or what ever.

So I think I should get a mufler first then save up some more money and get catback pipe.but I m confused which mufler to get is it wise to spend 200bux on a mufler or shud I just get a cheap one arund50-100 bux?I actually liked the drift mufler I saw in autobarn is tht one any good?can u guys tell me why u guys are suggesting me not to buy anything from autobarn?

    • Jack the back of the car up, pull that wheel off, pull that sensor out, and put a bore scope into the hole to inspect the outer casing, see if anything looks damaged before you pull the whole thing apart.
    • Ergh... So I pulled the speed sensor out again and the tip was shiny so I think it's rubbing the bearing. The bearing contains the magnets for the speed sensor so I think when the first sensor broke it damaged the magnet ring on the bearing.  This is just a Google image, but there is a hole going to the bearing. So when the tip broke off the old sensor I'm guessing it fouled the bearing... As the magnet is only protected by a plastic cover it would be easy to damage it. So I guess I'm doing a bearing again.
    • My thinking is that if the O2 sensor is shot then your entire above described experience is pure placebo.
    • Here is the mess that I made. That filler there was successful in filling dents in that area. But in the middle area. I can feel dents. And I've gone ocer it multiple times with filler. And the filler is no longer there because i accidently sanded it away. I've chased my tail on this job but this is something else lol. So I'm gonna attempt filler one more time and if it doesn't work I'll just high fill primer the door and see where the issues are because guidecoat is of no use atm.
    • Ok, so I think I sort of figured out where I went wrong. So I definitely overthinked it, and I over sanded, which is probably a large part of the problem. to fix it, I ended up tapping some spots that were likely to be high, made them low, filled them in, and I tackled small sections at a time, and it feels a lot better.    I think what confused me as well is you have the bare metal, and some spots darker and some are lighter, and when I run my finger across it, it' would feel like it's a low spot, but I think it's just a transition in different texture from metal to body filler.    When your finger's sliding on the body filler, and crosses over to the bare metal, going back and forth, it feels like it's a low spot. So I kept putting filler there and sanding, but I think it was just a transition in texture, nothing to do with the low or high spot. But the panel's feels a lot better, and I'm just going to end up priming it, and then I'll block it after with guide coat.   Ended up wasting just about all of my filler on this damn door lol
