Hey guys,

as the topic suggests, just lookin for some photos/ideas from people that have already used a Full Race twin scroll manifold (im using a borg warner 83/75 single turbo)

Particularly in reguards to the air intake, compressor/pressure side plumbing and power steering reservoir location

Cheers

Joe

Where does your manifold locate the front wastegate? There seem to be a number of iterations. I don't have p/s but intake side plumbing is the easy part - plumbing up the two gates etc looks to be the challenge (a challenge to do neatly that is).

as u can see the front waste gate is a pain in the arse lol

was also goin to run AFM's but it will be a difficult fit Y pipe/afm/ and filters with the turbo facing to the right

So the only option i can see atm is to run a D-jetro.. and good luck to the block whos doin the pluming for the wastegates :whistling:

TURBO IN!.zip

that should be a given, running a map sensor ecu.. btw awsome choice. need to get more bw data over here. im in the process of putting a 9179 on my gf rb25.. on a 6 boost. twin wg.= better but a pain in the ass to set up.

pic of turbon old manifold.

.

looks awsome mate... thats one fine lookin engine bay!! i may have to do something similar with my power steering reservoir

i have seen single set ups running AFMs, but didnt realise the dramas i was goin to have with the manifold pointing the turbo that way.

will be very interesting to see how the turbo performs in reguards to response with the twin scroll .. and yes get some data goin

  • 3 weeks later...

went in pretty good. wastegates are a pain. ps.. make sure you check what springs are in them. i orderd mine with 0.7bar springs.

i pulled them apart, one had 0.9bar springs and the other had 4 springs in it... almost took my head off when i poped the top off...

9179 on 6 boost, 3.5" exhaust. twin tial mvr44, spooling at 3k. straight to limiter by 4500-5k throwing p/s belts of... sounds awsome.

got the wastegates with no springs in them so didnt have an issue with that, but yeah there is a fark load of spring pressure in them haha

had to use 3 springs to get the 1 bar setting though

pretty handy how both ur wastegates are together, i have one facing the front which could prove interesting

how much power u making mate? u reckon the twinscroll makes a difference as appose to single?

    • Am I correct in assuming that the R35's are getting the classic skyline haircut off the odometer?  Quick search on carsales, there are 33 08 and 09 GTR's for sale, only 2 of them have more then 100,000km's on them (116,075 and 110,000 respectively).  And somehow there are about 25 for sale with around 60,000kms? Looks like the classic skyline haircut to me =/
    • @Stringycheese  Have you only gone to the one blue slip workshop?  There will be a heap of them where ever you live, good odds that the next place you go to will pass the car.  Unfortunately (or fortunately?) every blue slip / engineering workshop will be different and will be happy passing or failing different things - despite working from the same set of rules. It's kinda like 2 lawyers arguing over a piece of legislation, each saying their interpretation is correct. Might seem strange that this happens when it comes to getting a modified car passed, but this is very much a thing. A big part of the game is finding an engineer / workshop that is on the same page as you.
    • Bah. I daily mine. ~60km per work day, 10-12 thousand km per year. What's the point of having a dirty old Datto and leaving it in the shed. It needs to be driven and enjoyed while the govco allows us to do so. It will only be a few years before we're forbidden to even start up internal combustion engines.
    • Judging by that spring perch and the normal looking spring on it - not a coilover. Well.... it is a coilover, just a stock format coilover, rather than what everyone calls a coilover.
    • Yes it is. We get stock from Nismo directly. I'm happy to take photos/video of it as proof before I ship it with timestamps or whathaveyou.
