I spoke to a mate this morning that has a stand regularly at the autosalon's (and at the recent MAS) about banners and car decals, he said they would be happy to do a semi sponsor deal, with the banners, signage etc...

As an indication his standard pricing excluding any sponsorship deal for full colour banner signs is $120 per quare metre.

EG: if the sign is 75cm x 150cm you'd work it out like this

7.5 x 15 x 1.2(being the square metre rate) = $135.00

Their machine can print & cut any shape we want. The only thing we need to do to the banners is arrange eyelids as they dont do them. They mainly specialise in car decals... and I spoke to him about turning Snowman's :) car into a lolliCop mobile for the next MAS, which he said no probs and would love to do a semi sponsor deal with us.

sweet... i can arrange the decal templates so it looks exactly like a japanese cop (all I gotta do is trace the decal template off my Tomiya R34 cop car).

Should be easy as... mmmm R34 cop car... However I'd prefer a black car to use as a cop car since the jap cop cars are black n white...

Shan,

Thinking about your cop car idea last night, I thought it you meant creating a "victorian police skyline replica cop car"?? As I think this would be a great idea & an opportunity for some great publicity for the club if we created a skyline victorian cop car. What do you think?

hmmm an aussiefied GTR? could work... in that case snowman's car would be ideal coz its already got that Highway patrol look to it with it being bayside blue n all...

Meshmesh - I assume you mean we have to put eyelets not "eylids" yeah? Thats pretty simple to do.

Yep eyelets... If you can do it, then that's great.

Are these the guys who had the sticker stand at MAS this year?

Yep, the company is called U C Y Power Image.

Thinking about it now, a little suck up "resch_pect" to the cops, and thinking about jame's idea, I guess it would definately attract a croud and alot of attention, if we had my white GTR & Andrews Blue LolliCop, decalled up.

The only issue's I can see is, would we go to the extent of putting the red & blue light's on?? Perhaps we could arrange something with vic police about the idea in promoting the concept??

here's the mob i was talking about... $150 hemmed, grommeted etc etc full colour 2 foot x 6 foot which is $150 + shipping from the US.

that's 61cm x 183cm... Which works out to be $133.95 so meshmesh, tell your mate he's got a deal.

not to worry, my mate's uncle works in a prop shop and he can provide the cop lights :) however they're US style cop lights so :

Also i was thinking of a model dressed in this standing next to the cop car ;)

but somehow i don't see that happening

Snowie, you have to eat donuts all day too. (start now to slow you down for sundays race)

I'm just contemplating adverse reaction to a stand depicting imports running from the police...there are always people who will see the bad message of something like that, like we are endorsing antisocial behaviour and running from the conscequences. I personally think it would look great. Sort of, the only way the plods could catch an import :):D:D not that they could get their donut padded rears in the R34.

Mesh I'm not that smart, just bored at the moment, and you know what they say about idle minds and mischief

    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
    • OK, if it idles at 1000+ with the AAC, its not an idle airflow problem. The cold start valve just gives extra air when the engine is cold, but you have enough air without it to idle at 1000. I think you are back to a fuel problem, sorry. Can you see the fuel pressure staying constant or does it drop as the revs drop to a stall?
