I also like the Falkens. Was using FK452 which are a really good tyre in that price range. Have since changed to KU36, which are well stickier, but cost more overall to use because I only get ~6000km out of them (although I may get more like 10k out of them now that I've improved the anti-rollbar situation on my car). KU36 can be a little dicey in the wet, but I've really only ever had a moment in water so deep that it probably would have made any tyre aquaplane, and I was provoking it to try to see how well they would do in serious water. The KU36 do take a little heating to make them work, so most people who complain about them being poor in the wet are probably really complaining about them being poor in the wet AND the cold, like when you're crawling around on damp roads and they don't warm up, then you try to do something that needs grip and you don't get it straight away.

Falkens can't be bought from tirerack.com because they don't stock them, but you can buy Kumhos from there. Although, as I wrote in another recent thread on tyres, it's hardly worth the pain of importing and paying for fitting separately when buying tyres at this price level, because the total number of $$ saved is not worth the extra effort.

I agree with above ^ Very nice

The falken, i think the ze912 are only $135each (I bought some a few weeks ago) but are still a nice tyre, the R1R's are much nicer.

Also consider Bridgestone Re02, in your budget and a very good tyre

And Kumho KU36 also a nice tyre in your budget

Some are available on eBay but don't forget fitting and disposal costs

And the tyre sponsor for this website :) Taleb Tyres stock the R1R and will do you a good deal no doubt.

The majority of Dunlop Sport Maxx TT's are made in Japan, smooth and quiet with good levels of grip (asymetric design).

The Toyo Proxes 4 is also made in Japan but is an older design not as quiet and smooth (directional design) but will still give decent grip in wet and dry conditions. In terms of flat out performance in the Toyo range it goes R888 > R1R > T1S > Prx 4 > Teo Plus. I ran the Proxes 4s on my Mitsubishi Legnum and they were good, however that had quite a bit more grip then your average R32 GTS-T ;)

If you are indeed chasing "loads of grip" I would still be looking at something like the R1R or Yokohama Advan Neova AD08, in your 16" sizing they shouldn't be out of your budget.

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
