Yeah I got mine locally for cheaper than I could import one for - good representation in Oz for Akrapovic which is a nice change.

Can check with the Oz agent for the best place locally to get one from.

The CF tips are especially sexy if you aren't running decatted set-ups. (The titanium ones are sweet too)

The Akro system is very nice, however it does tend to hang a little low in the middle section on the cars I have seen them fitted to. The number of flattened GTR tail section exhaust pieces I have seen from straddling a kerb at the race track....

i bought my exhaust direct off alibaba from one of the ti exhaust manufacturers in china

it's 90mm, sounds great with de-catted downpipes and catted midpipe (didnt gain much sound when i added this to my midpipe only though - it's same layout/design as oem afterall), smooth quality welds inside and out, and looks even better

the only thing is i ditched the tips that came with it - i used Garage Active tips instead which i alrready had

I had the Akrapovic evo Titanium exhaust (with carbon fibre tips) fitted to my 2011 R35, supplied and fitted by Tunehouse in Sydney. Tunehouse are a local distributor of these exhausts. ( http://www.tunehouse.com.au/ )

If you want a premium exhaust it is pretty hard to beat. Akrapovic are one of the leading aftermarket exhaust systems makers in the world. http://www.akrapovic.com/car-exhaust/

There is a weight reduction of 17kg with the titanium system..

I had it dyno'd before and after on a Dynapack hub dyno for good benchmarking, on a stock car.

I have no problem believing this system will easily support far higher power levels.

Sound is noticeably deeper and sportier than standard; I think it sounds far louder if you are outside the car than if you are in it. It has more of a "Euro" sound, I think it has a far better sound than the jap exhausts. With the windows up you will hear the exhaust, but I'd rather hear an exhaust than tyre/road noise. This exhaust is a good compromise without upsetting the wife. I have 5 turbo cars with exhausts ranging from stock quiet to very loud, and this one is in the middle with regard to sound db, but I think easily has the best note.

Results:

Peak power is up from 346 to 370awkw; up 6.9.0%

Peak torque is up from 611 to 629NM; up 2.9%

Torque is up a maximum of about 7% at 3200rpm, but that increase reducing up to 4700rpm, then noticeably increases again above 6000rpm.Power increase was up around 20rwkw, but really only seen over 5500rpm wherethe stock car flattened, but with the exhaust the power kept increasing. Ithink the increase in top end was a good pointer to its capability if pushed further.

If you look at the akrapovic dyno graph at http://www.akrapovic...9/evolution-65/I'd say they are almost spot on, except that I got more top end from 5500 rpm than what they claimed on their dyno graph (they used a 2010 model whereas I have a 2011).

2. 1st very conservative Ecutek tune, no other changes otherthan exhaust.

Then Tunehouse added a very conservative starting Ecutek tune with just 1 pound extra boost (peak boost 15lb compared with 14 stock), resulting power was up around 11% from 2500rpm all the way to 7000rpm. Main difference isfelt from 2500 to 3500rpm, with torque up around 25%, and I believe that has alot to do with bringing boost in earlier, and that is the area where the akrapovic exhaust excels. That makes the car far more flexible and better carto drive, and it pulls far stronger from 2000rpm.

Excellent jump in power and torque everywhere; boost isbrought in earlier.

Compared with original baseline, torque is up 30% at 2500 and up 25% at 3000rpm, so it is far more responsive low down and far more driveable.

Peak power is up from 346 to 384awkw; up 11.0%

Peak torque is up from 611 to 680NM; up 11.3%

3. boost used for that tune :

More boost under 3200rpm, otherwise peak boost up just 1lb ;14lb to 15lb ... bugger all.

So I and tuner (Tunehouse) are very happy with the exhaust choice, and a very good base from which to push higher if required.

It is also of the highest quality.

alibaba is hit or miss......bit like ebay

afaik there are two main ti exhaust manufacturers in china - jiajun and gzy (which is where mine came from)

imo jiajun quality isn't there, just like majority of the carbon parts coming out of china atm - with exception of revozport and top racing which in my experience were even better quality than japan's zele carbon

there are bargains to be had, but keep in mind alot of factories work on minimum order quantities - you may get lucky and they'll sell you a single unit if they have stock

but they wont get the manufacturing team away from making ipads for some aussie guy who wants some ti underbody bling

    • Oh dear. The panel beating needs to be done before the filler work. Do you have a photo of the dent before you started? Hard enough to not flex and only hit the high spots?  What do you mean it was just temporary?

    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly. 
    • That worked out PERFECTLY! Thank you big time to JJ. He was able to swap me his stock diff. He drove all the way to me as well. Killer! Removal & install was pretty straightforward. The diff itself is HEAVY. So that’s a 2 man job.  Man does the car drive nice now! Couldn’t have worked out any better 👌
