Does anyone know what the standard spring rates are on the M35 ARX RS and AXIS?

I have an AXIS and the spring rates are to hard, looking at getting some BC's in a softer rate.

Matt

Matt; Talk to member Bigkevracer; I believe he purchased custom rate BC's.

Personally, I don't think you need to go softer than their recommended rates; I'm using a set of BC BR's,with their recommended rates, I don't believe you'd want any softer. They're not what you normally expect from Coilovers.

On minimum damping adjustments; mine is just like a well damped standard M35; no harshness, no jiggling or rattling, but not boat spec either. I'm a bit past crashy, rough, suspension; I couldn't be happier with the way mine is.

Cheers, Dale.

After I put the swaybars in I found my BC's need to be set fairly firm. Dirt roads can be a little annoying now, great on the road though.

Interesting Scotty; I went the opposite way after fitting my Bars, (I run my 30mm front on the stiffest setting).

I actually backed my fronts off to 2 clicks in from full soft, (was on five in) because it became a bit too "darty" in the steering for my liking, and it didn't really have any weight transfer.

Different strokes and all that...

True, Craig drove my car today and felt the rear needed to be lightened a couple of clicks but I like it on the firmer side. Perhaps I should have another play now the castor arms are in.

Probably should get another alignment done when the rear camber bolts get here too.

hows the vq35 swap going? i want a m35 now...

Haha, no cash otherwise it would be done already. Build parts are cheap for the VQ35de in the states but I have a few spare VQ25det's now so no reason to build the VQ35 atm, especially as I havent found the limits of the 2.5 yet.

I would love to drop the 3.5 into a smaller car, say a datto 1600, and make an awd monster.

Sorry Dale, that was Commsman who purchased custom rate BCs... about 1-2kg softer front and rear. I'm not sure he's driven on the normal springs for comparison though?

I'm with Dale, I don't know why you'd want to go softer. Very happy with mine as is.

Hey Ryan; sorry about that, I realised a few days later, my brain has the dumb...

    • All 3 I guess. The car came with the JASI Aero 4 door Type R Full Kit unpainted so this was one thing at the top of my list to complete then I noticed there were body panels parts for this kit so i picked them up along with some black mesh to fill in the front bumper and front side air vents. car is at a paint and body shop atm completing this work. Next I will be addressing the internal bells and whistles, great summer project I can do with the kids.  full interior removal - ,boys car sound deadening - pads and spray ,boys stereo, sound, lighting - Big 3, GTT or bigger alternator ,kids head lining - dye black add star lighting mod ,daughter. That's it for the next 5-6 months. I have some motor maintenance  work i have to plan out. oil filter relocation, gaskets, mounts. beyond that, mind is starting to turn over if i can use a DET intake plenum, block off turbo ports & pipe in a air intake.
    • roller coaster of a ride. Alarm system was removed & main harness was repaired where possible. still no fix just random successful starts. moved on to the replacing the ignition switch and relay. well all this troubleshooting & repair has been going on, the car is at a paint and body shop being pushed around. • I think he was only proposing to use the wire, not the sender. Simply because it runs from the right place to the right place. Personally, I wouldn't hack up the factory wiring like that. I'd just lay in the Defi loom.
