Hey guys,

I've recently pulled my spark plugs out to change and in the process I've discovered sludgy oil on the sides of my air intake pipes, specifically in the throttle section of the pipe and continues back toward the intercooler.

Is this a common problem in a gtt and is this oil seals in the turbo??

Also would this be a tell tail sign of blowing a turbo??

+1. Oil in the intake is from your breathers, not usually a sign of a stuffed turbo. Can sometimes be a stuffed PCV valve.

Oil from a turbo will generally end up in the exhaust; mainly because the hot side seal gets damaged by carbon buildup.

Clean out the pipework, including the intercooler, then run it fro a couple of weeks. Remove again if you're concerned, and see how much has returned.

Don't forget; This oil has been building up since it was built and is now over 12 years old; there's bound to be some in there.
