Hey I got a puzzeling question..

I took my bros r33 for a spin the other day .. and as i went around around a corner with a bit of speed, water came out of somewhere and poured onto my left foot..

closer inspection showed it was possibly coming from a pipe angeling at your feet..

anyone know whats goin on here?

This is probably the same thing that we have with our pintara (r31 he he he)...

Aircon - Leaves (or whatever) get stuck in there, blocking flow of air i think and water condenses and comes out when you go around a corner (depending on the setup of the car). In our car, it's on the passenger side and will pour out when taking a right turn (so that the force acting on the water is to the left). Flush the leaves out :D

I'll have the exact reasons tomorrow when my dads back... unless someone else knows.

You've been driving through a river??

Common problem in the skylines.. Anyhow, this is the solution. In the FAQ section there is a full guide to fixing the problem and photos, etc. Its a roughly 5 hour job to fix, and yep, it does need to be fixed.

The alternative is to bypass your heater completely via just plumbing it back into itself in the engine bay and skipping replacing the core for the time being. I wrote how to do that somewhere else too...

25GTT - not necessarily. Mine was a bit intermitent, then started getting worse and worse till it was doing it all the time. Of course the less you use your heater system (and in the R32/R33 skylines its kind of a balance between the heater and aircon at any one point for any degree you dial in) the less likely you're going to get the problem. Just keep a very close eye on your coolant levels, especially on hot days. Never know, always possible that some gunk has jammed in the hole, preventing it leaking :D

Mindflux -

Well it took the bloke i went too 10 mins to fix. Everytime i turned sharply on the righthand side my left shoe was covered in water , was quite funny actually untill my old man drove my car and said it was a condensor or something arather pipe that has come out. It isn't a big deal but it does get very annoying.

I have an R33 GTR and you also have the same model so i doubt the air con pipes would be different or anything..

Good luck shouldn't cost you much anyway..

    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.
