Hi All,

Recently had a problem with my front torque gauge where the needle is not moving and showing torque distribution to the fwd. So i assume it's running on rwd. The funny thing is that there's no 4WD error lights on and i check the rear attesa ecu, there's no red led light blinking, i have check the g sensor and the indicator is ok, not in red color, check the attesa rear reservoir when the ignition on, fluids on the right level. when i switch on the ignitiion on i can hear the attesa pump is working.

i recently changed the gear box oil and front diff oil. gear box oil i used redline heavy shockproof. front diff i sue the same oil as well. but after reading through this forum or gtro found that shockproof oil doesnt do well in diff, so i changed to castrol manual transmission oil, and problem still there.

so i am really confuse as where the problem lies or is the front torque gauge not working? othes gauges in the console working fine though.

you can try a bleed procedure just to see if the gauge works when the pump works. Take the drivers footwell trim out, there's a white plug that you unclip to activate the attessa bleed. Turn the ignition on (not engine), wait for fuel pump to finish priming (this might also be what you hear as I don't think the attessa pump primes on ignition) then unplug- you'll hear the attessa pump prime and the gauge should move too (up to half way). If your attessa system is not working and hasn't for a while the awd warning light can burn out- it should light up with the key turned to ignition.

Mate just because the g sensor indicator is showing ok doesn't mean that its working properly. The indicator is only a shock loading indicator and the sensor can still be faulty as this happened to me. Good luck with it anyway mate

the best bet now i think is do a bleed on the systems and see how it goes. Need to refer back to the manual for the full procedures. anybody knows which page? i did turn the ign on and unplug the two terminal on the g sensor and 4wd light pop out right after. plug it in the light still there and need to turn ign off and on then it's gone.

Have you had ur wheels balanced lately, or a wheel alignment?

Mine did the same thing after a dodgy alignment, the 4wd was definalty working cause I launched the thing hard on the highway lol

Anyway I didn't worry about it too much untill a couple of months later when I bought some new tyres and had a new alignment and balance etc then all of a sudden it started working again

nope, i triple check all four rims are 17x9jj off+15. even tyre size are the same 255/40R17. just that the rear tyres are newer than the front and i measured the tyres width with a ruler, the rear is wider around 0.5cm.

Might be same size, but if they are different manufacturer or different model by same manufacturer, then they could be slightly different. The width is generally "nominal". It's the rolling diameter / circumference that is important.

It was odd that you got the problem you had. Ordinarily, the symptoms would be a jerkiness in the AWD system, because ATTESSA sees the slightly smaller (older) rears "slipping"" relative to the (newer) fronts.

    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here  
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
