I have Just 2quick question to anyone who knows.

What sort of motorbike would give a standard turboed GTR a good run? I know nothing about bikes

I had a run against this 750cc and got beaten- by a lot!(got him off the line-but maybe he wasnt trying) the only reason I had a go was because his number plate was 'idiot'

the other question is what does the standard boost gauge go too? Mine seems to go all the way to +7(1Bar??), and I have everything standard, including exhaust and still have the restrictor. maybe the gauge is innacurate?? Is this common?

My mates 11sec gemini has had a few close races with them until top end, then the bikes just pull.

And +7, would that not be psi?  So that would be about 0.5bar.

I dont think it is PSI, I think the +7 corresponds to 1Bar (from memory, looking at other posts) although Im not 100% sure. I guess im questioning the realiability of these gauges or whether some stock GTR's just run more boost??

I havent really got anything to compare my car to as the only other GTR I have been in is Leewahs..eh and that feels like the gravitron at Luna Park!

Any sports bike 600cc and up will kill virtually any car on the road. And for the rare car where the owner has more money than sense sunk into his pride and joy, well a bike can just lose him in the traffic by lane splitting. I have yet to see a car that can beat my bike. I'm not saying that they don't exist, it's just that they are so rare that I've never seen one in over 3 years of riding. And even if I do eventually see one, he's still going to be stuck behind other cars as I lane split on up the road :)

Oh, note I said "sports bike" above. Harleys are usually 1000-1500cc, and yet they are absolute slugs. You could beat one in a V8 Commodore in both 0-100 and in top speed. So even if you have a mild GTS-t, give a Harley a go and you will probably win. They are also too fat to lane split through traffic :)

I see that bike all the time.. from memory along queens road, & nepean hwy. Well, my car's not stock and pushing 270rwkw, I ran an R1, beat him off the line by a car length & we were neck and neck up to 120~ then I hit the brakes, coz he would have left me like a salami sandwhich.

The thing I've learnt, unless you got real top end don't bother pushing past 100~, Bike's lack the traction off the line, so you always beat em on that, hitting the brakes when you hit 100, just add's salt to their wounds.

Guest INASNT

I got a few vids of turbo busa, and other turbo race bikes and they pop the front wheel up at over 300km/h.

I one time i tried dragging my car ages ago i was neck to neck with him till about 100 and then i think he realised i was racing him so he dropped 1 gear down popped the front wheel in the air and disappeared into the distance before i could pull another gear.

i ride bikes and apart from dificulty's off line due to power (im only on a 400 so i dont experience this) i find it hard to beleive that you stay with bike up to 100 as most of the bikes these days including my own have a 1st gear that goes to 100 and unless you guys are in super cars =p you got no chance agains the litre bikes... untill you become professional race drivers and we hit some corners

hey marchGTR - South Road Moorabbin (Chesterville Rd intersection) - 6:30ish last night :O

I didnt think you were racing at first ;) Its a rare occasion that anyone besides another bike wants a race, so thankyou for making my ride home from work a little more interesting. Nice looking GTR by the way.

Ran my pretty stock R33 GTSt against a mates mod'd 1200 Bandit for fun.

Needless to say he owned me and pulled wheelies in 2nd, 3rd and 4th to prove his point!

His bike and rider = ~200kg, with a dyno proven 178 rwhp. Approx. 900hp / t

That in skyline terms is about 1200hp + (but at least you have 2 or 4 wheel to put power to the ground)

For the record, and those that are interested. The bike is a Kawasaki ZXR750 (H1) 1989 model. 4 cylinder - 4 stroke 750cc - The bike is totally stock standard. Even the exhaust is factory. It produces about 107.00hp or 78.1kW @ 10500. Weight of the bike wet is 231KG + me at about 95KG. Top speed with me on it is 250kph.

    • Thanks, will do that.  Thankfully they still feel great.
    • Yeah man, absolutely. You can try pushing me all the way in swapping the R34 for an E9x M3
    • It's almost certainly going to be some amount of pads compound transfer onto the rotors. It will probably go away after you've run them for a bit. If not, pull it all out, lightly sand the rotors, scuff the pads, and rebed.
    • no one recommending speedtek gearsets?   i'm in the same boat as Cosline but rwd, I am holding boost back in third to 600nm at the hubs to save the gear as i make nearly 750nm at the hubs on a mainline
