I've always liked the Mazda Rx-7 FD3S but the fuel consumption is apparently astronomical...so I couldn't afford to run, let alone maintain one.

Rubbish! 13B's are frugal and FD's are light

I heard someone say typical fuel consumption would be around 18L per 100kms? Thats not exactly frugal lol.

To the guy who said I don't know how to drive....I'll send you a PM in confidence. It was more so the fact I had to rapidly alter my line due to the oncoming car cutting the corner and I had the front brakes lock up viciously. Immediately applied full opposite lock but seeing as I had hit the brakes whilst hitting the apex there was no chance of saving it.

And Stig Mick, If I liked agressive looking cars I'd definately go for the S14 Kouki. S15 also. But I prefer modest and humble and smiley faced cars. eg S13 Silvia. (No Homo)

So basically when I crashed my car.....I destroyed a collectible classic?

As bad I was already feeling...I now feel about 100 x more bad. Wow.....=(.

A collectable classic.......omg i cant stop laughing. you find find S13s anywhere and everywhere. Maybe a Mint VspecII 32 GTR that hasnt been touched or a mint Aus delivered 32 GTR is a collectable.....

As much as I like having fun bagging him

A mint anything import is a collectors item

That's why I haven't got a single aftermarket part on my s15 not even the cd player, in 10 years time it's gotta be worth something

You better stop laughing then. Mint S13s have been going up in value for the last 2 years at least. If you wanted to import a grade 4 Type X with under 100,000km (legit), don't expect change out of $15K landed and complied.

They won't fetch the prices of VS2 R32s, but then again they were never as expensive in the first place either. A good original S13 with service records is money in the bank in my books.

When I came on this forum, I never received one compliment about my S13...except from Mr.Eps.

Mine came over from Japan with 58,000km's and log books in 2000. And was meticulously maintained for 10 years by female owner (middle-aged) with service records etc.

I told people my car was worth something, and they laughed at me (like they laughed at you Iron Chef).

It died with 143,900km's on the clock. I got it with 126,000kms.

They were the best 17,900kms of my life.

Driving my mum's E90 corolla now and it makes me feel sick how much body roll it has.

^^ Exactly. LOL. But the s13 silvia is the definition of a "tuner" car....basically a perfect sports car. The only problem inherent in the chassis is a non progressive build up to oversteer.

And Stig Mick, mine was going to be converted to a 5 speed SR20DET. Was planning to modify it tastefully and extract 300rwhp. Sigh.

In all seriousness, even though it was a freak accident....its taught me a good lesson in that things can happen when you least expect. I consider myself to be a good driver "Relative" to the experience I have, the external car that was coming up the mountain, caused me to "Alter" my habits which is why I lost it. I shouldn't of braked either and done my best without the brakes, although this most likely would of resulted in a head on collission if I didn't as the commodore had already cut the double lines

Stig, I'll send you a PM naow.

they're only collectable because 99.9% of S13's have been crashed at least once or come over looking like they were used as a portable doghouse / getaway car etc :rofl2:

It's like trying to find a Cefiro that has never had the interior pulled out

That's pretty much it - so many have been used for drifting that good ones are very rare these days.

I also imported a 23,000km Cefiro for an Adelaide customer a few years back ;)

i bought this mint condition 89 S13 K's spec manual CA18DET, with HUD and genuine grade 4.5 with 59 000kms in 1999 from an importer for 11K, drove like it came from the showroom - slammed it, boosted it then stoopidly put it through a round about. back then there were no import yards around then and they brought in two other SR20 N/As in champagne gold and two tone cream one was a rare A's model.

your best bet nowadays is to pick up a stock lowish km aus delivered auto S14a like i did for around 7k as it has five stud conversion, turbo brakes and running gear and is already agood platform to work with. im doing a VH45de swap so lookn forward to some fun times soon.

    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
    • I hear that would involve some nice country road drives into the hills for Mark...
    • I thought I'd come back and add something I JUST learned. A Toyota LandCruiser with a 1HZ, mates perfectly with a bottle of Nulon brake fluid. As in, it perfectly screws in. Great make shift funnel when you cut the bottom of it off. This may work for your Corolla.   Unfortunately, tipping a 10L drum is much harder than a 4 to 6L bottle, and they no longer include the easy pour tap which was just perfection to use previously.
    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
