keen to see a vid of the cammed up sss, good luck for wednesday man, any changes to the z since you last ran?

No changes, just working on my driving. Changed the gearbox oil so it no longer crunches going into 4th gear, might be able to select 4th instead of bouncing off the limiter. The SSS goes really well, keeps up with my Z no problem and i'm gunna try line him up because my mate will be recording the night.

sweet, throw some vids up if you get a chance. my mates got an na (vg30de) 300zx they do go really well. if only the were easier to work on lol

They aren't that hard to work on, i can work on mine no problems.

haha niche cars such as v35/v36 and V8's don't apply to the norm of the N/A section...

This forum actually reminds me of reading the N/A forum on Calais Turbo back when I was in high school and no one could afford a turbo lol, most of the same "mods" are mentioned (cutting AFM mesh anyone?)

+1. keen to know what cams (i'm guessing most likely poncams) and whether it's running a nistune as well. i want to put some poncams and a nistune into the missus SSS but i'm not allowed (plus can't afford it)

Tomei Poncams 260 degree 11.25mm lift. Has the Poncams, Mild head work(shaved etc),pod+CAI, extractors, catback & a chipped Ecu.

Nope. - Poncams. Strange but true, I double taked the first time too

yeah i remember he told me they were poncams but i wasn't too sure myself. All the cars are on regular street tyres so don't expect magnificent times but it should be a fun night. Anybody in sydney is free to come down and have a look themselves :).

with those mods he should be putting out enough power to give a NA skyline a scare on a dyno, let alone on a track in a car that weighs about 200kg less. should easily get into the 14's without too much trouble.

and yeah that's the poncams. they aren't that lumpy either. good street cam.

grr wish i was in sydney still, I've seen one natro 33 at willowbank and it wasn't racing. BTW I'm at willowbank at least twice a month if you see a grey and black two tone 33 with green ps come say hi :)

I'm actually expecting him to give me a good chop going down the strip, thats why i'm going to try get him in my lane for a run.

Hey guys, results are in and i have to say sorry as you won't be too impressed!

The Corolla(88kw bigport) ran 16.8 sec with ECU problems

The Cammed SSS did a PB of 15.449 @ 88mph (2.5 60ft)

My 300ZX did 14.58 @ 95mph (2.279 60ft)

    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
