Apologies I thought you were unaware of the rb34 kit and had just noticed the rb32 kit.

Why would you choose the rb32 over the rb34? Cheaper? Rev higher?

RB34 requires some block machine work AFAIK, RB32 should be bolt in and go.

on the spool webiste they have done a comparison chart between a rb30 and their rb34. bit of a increase has been achieved. http://www.spoolimports.com/articles-1/rb34det-results. as for brand comparisons dyno charts, it will probably never happen as not one workshop will see the same style of car, same style of setup do to this unless they cough up the coin themselves to carry out the tests.

This thread is not about RB34. There is already an RB34 thread.

I'm surprised they didn't lose any hp in the top end due to the smaller bore/stroke ratio. I would say there head was flowing quiet well!

The rb34 bore/stroke ratio is less than an xr6t and those things just don't like to rev over 6500.

They used a standard NEO head and said a lot more could be done if the head had have been flowed to accommodate the larger displacement.

True 3.2? does litre actually matter or stroke? When is the point where longer stroke stops making power?

and creates less?

Spool 3.2 stroke 91mm

86mm bore 3.17

86.5mm bore = 3.2

87mm bore = 3.24

Nitto 3.2 stroke 90mm

86mm bore = 3.14L

86.5mm bore = 3.17L

87mm bore = 3.21L

I personally think these cranks are similar as in the rips main caps and cradle and the spools version not long after

but just ask yourself, why is something cheap? What did they cut out? Was it just to make it sell easier? Or was there something that just wasn't needed?

I think Rips latest engine in the Stagea will be revving at least 9000 but he is being a bit cagy about the actual size. I would guess its a 3.2 although he could be experimenting with something bigger.

    • Sane enough. Remove the roof liner, because the acid will go everywhere.
    • Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help and experienced opinions.  I have spent a lot of my life working on boats so I'm pretty good with fibreglass. I'll take everybody's advice in here;  I'll cut a little more of the 2nd layer away as it's a bit crunchy rust and also it's sitting high now. Then I'll wire brush it all a bit to get off anything loose, then I'll soak the bejesus out of it all in rust converter. I'll make sure to get a little hose piece and feed it into all the holes and gaps between the roof layers. Then I'll fibreglass up the holes.  Then I'll get a pallet of filler and mix it with 3 buckets of hardener and hope that is enough to build up the roof corner.  Does that sound sane? Is one type of filler better than others for this?
    • My goals for it atm are to get it registered, respray and some mild power gains eventually... I picked up the car from an elderly gentleman near the border of NSW and VIC, its honestly a bit rough and looks like its been driven on a farm (because there was so much dirt underneath). Last week I dropped the subframe and emptied the old fuel out + added a new fuel pump (think the old one went bad from old fuel). Now I'm onto fixing a coolant leak at the rear of the engine + adding a new radiator as the old one is corroded. After that i have a new bumper, coils (as the old were leaking) and lots more
    • Welcome buddy! Plenty on here and YouTube. What are your plans for it? Good luck with the Rwc and Rego bud!
    • Love this so much! Please post a photo when you have a bike on the trailer.  I was a little bit worried about having a tow bar on the Skyline, but having it hidden behind the number plate is genius
