Hi All,

I have posted a thread in the forsale section where I am now selling my GTR and moving on to new projects.

Just an update on the sale, I am offering a spotters fee for anyone who can sell the car on my behalf.

If you are interested in buying the car or know someone who is, please PM me with your contact details and I will get back to you.

Cheers,

Dave.

The spotters fee will work on a sliding scale of how much you can sell the car for.

I am offering $1000 for anyone who can sell the car for the price I want and if you can sell it for more than what I'm asking, you will also get a cut of that.

Hey so, hypothetically, I could refer myself to you, pick up a spotters fee and get a bargain GT-R in the deal? Sweet!

In a word: NO

The spotters fee is only valid for people who can sell the car to someone else. If you want the car, PM me and we can work something out.

Trust is a wonderful thing isn't it.

Put it this way, if your "mate" bought the car and transferred the car into their name as they were buying it for you, you would still have to transfer the name of the owner back to your name and hence spend more than the spotters fee to get it into your name anyway.

Dave, is there any chance of my buying the HKS ETC/EDA back off you?

Hehehe. Good buy wasn't it???? I tell you what, after we finish racing (possibly 2 May) I may sell it back to ya... How much you willing to pay for a ETC and EDA that's been in the Leewah GTR (fingers crossed)?? :)

Actually, now that I think about it, this isn't even yours!! Your's is in a conviscated GTR and was replaced by the workshop who lost it...

:) @ the increase in price because of "fame by association" :(

hahahaha

Yeah, you told me about the whole impounded car debacle... I'm surprised they were able to find another one to buy for you!

In any case, I need one and if you're selling the car, that's one thing you can remove without really affecting the car as a whole :D So if you are happy to sell it to me, I'd be very grateful :D

I'll send you a PM after May 2nd ;)

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
