Might not be the most technically brain bending topic, apologies in advance

Searching for an r34 GTR. In no rush, but am adamant on a standard low km clean example. Happy to pay the premium for a genuine good example. Engaged an importer to source.

Currently have a basically standard r33gtst with the usual stuff making 200rwkw.

Can anyone comment of the performance of the standard item? Say in comparison to the gtst with 200rwkw?

Spoken to some importers who claim it will be a fair step up performance wise, but I've yet to test drive the standard item.

I will be keeping the car in standard form.

Cheers

Hey mate, goodluck with your search, good clean examples are really hard to find.

Mine is pretty close to standard, just exhaust, pods, and tune running stock Boost and it makes 210kw at all wheels, more boost would get it up to 250ish.

Let me know if you want any further details.

Cheers,

Anthony

Yea im constantly getting flogged by them... there quick man! ha

only recently got the car, its only running stock 13ish psi boost.... going to get EBC, cam gears and tune and should be around the 240-250 mark...

270 seems high if stock turbos... how hard are you pushing them?...

As for the OP, stock 34Rs i believe have around 190-200ish awkw... mine with 210 feels a little sluggish at times, and needs a better tune for response... but i think stage 1 mods with exhaust, more boost and tune will see a responsive, reliable 250ish awkw that will be alot of fun, and get the GTR moving more how you want it.

My GTR was tuned by Martin Donnon originally with 300kw 1.25 bar with stock turbos , That was pushing the limits so i retuned it back to safe 1.15 bar 270 Kw , i wouldnt run anymore than 270 kw

Ive heard they run about .9 bar from factory - stock

Oh i forgot to mention , i love your car !!!!

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
