Too bad Mark.

A neighbor of mine in the UK used to have an old Cedric Wagon.

You know you will get a lot more backpackers in a wagon than a sedan :whistling:

Get a Stagea.... Shame the Axis 350S cant be imported. I want one.

Are you still in Melbourne? Shout out if you want those headlight sockets or they will be thrown out.

Na mate dont need them anymore. All sorted.

But i do wanna say a massive thanks to scotty for helping me with the motor swap. It was a massive gamble and with all gambles therei the chance of failure and that whay happened. So the motorswap didnt happen and we kept the car NA.

Scotty worked wonders and the car is amazing, cleaned plenum and intake and heaps of other things.

Big thanks. Staying in room 35 was awesome.

It was also good meeting some of the VIC stag owners and their whips.

So there is not much i can do performance wise so im just going to enjoy it how it is now.

Now wearing a blue (BW5) aero front and soon some new wheels

Pics up soon!

We went through about 20 cans of degreaser/carb cleaner, as well as 4 odd litres of concentrated liquid degreaser. Damn those DD engines are dirty inside. Glad the det's don't have egr recirculation.

Hands were almost eaten away by the degreasers, just a normal day for me. lol.

So i have 2/3 aero on the car. Buying a sedan rear bumper with aero lip on in QX1 - winning!. Problem is it can only go by sea unless i wanna sell butt hole to DHL and let the rape me on price.

Rest will be painted to match along with the mirror bases painted in a glossy piano black finish to match the B-pillars and also the foglight blanks and bumper mesh in the same black.

After the Rays wheels i bought off same will be refurbed.

Ok so the VQ25DET engine swap didn't go as planned. Partly because of my lack of research and comparing cars and their differences.

So attempt number two is in the early stages of thoughts/planning.

I'm keeping this close to my chest.

This will be a long painful road.

Once I have the donor car it's down hill from there which is pretty common. The conversion kit from the states includes custom sump, engine mounts, transmission mounts shifter plate and a single piece tailshaft.

If that's not a clue I don't know what is.

    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.
    • Punch your VIN (nm35-xxxxxx) into Amayama.com You can see everything there quite easily.
    • Thanks for that, I'll check it all out. I can always do the brakes last anyway if its a problem.  The 16's are super cool, if they do fit I'll cruise around with them for a bit.
    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
    • OK, so again it has been a bit of a break but it was around researching what had been done since I didn't have access to Neil's records and not everything is obvious without pulling stuff apart. Happily the guy who assembled the engine had kept reasonable records, so we now know the final spec is: Bottom end: Standard block and crank Ross 86.5mm forgies, 9:1 compression Spool forged rods Standard main bolts Oil pump Spool billet gears in standard housing Aeroflow extended and baffled sump Head Freshly rebuilt standard head with new 80lb valve springs Mild porting/port match Head oil feed restrictor VCT disabled Tighe 805C reground cams (255 duration, 8.93 lift)  Adjustable cam gears on inlet/exhaust Standard head bolts, gasket not confirmed but assumed MLS External 555cc Nismo injectors Z32 AFM Bosch 023 Intank fuel pump Garret 2871 (factory housings and manifold) Hypertune FFP plenum with standard throttle   Time to book in a trip to Unigroup
