my right spins when im turning right (in a drift or something), im thinking my diff is ****ed :P

straight-line and full left and a bit to the right it locks up 2 wheels great but as soon as i start turning a bit more to the right during a burnout (on private roads) it open wheelers :( thats a ****ed diff right?

if diff is rooted, how much is a mech 2-way?

mine doesnt do that but did the weirdest thing the other day..

I was going up a small driveway on an angle (low front bar) so my back left wheel was on the driveway and my back right was still on the road.. i accelerated a bit.. and it wouldnt move.. like i was in neutral

never done it before.

I just reversed back a bit, back into drive and it was fine. Weird.

I don't get how the subzero TRY09s car can have the stock diff, while people keep screwing up theirs. Not trying to say you can't drive, but i just don't get it

Quite easily, the drive shafts have been strengthened and it only goes hard in a STRAIGHT line, most wear on diffs occurs when turning and drifting and especially when combining both by doing donuts...on private roads to be cool to ya mates...

if its single wheeling when you turn i'd think your diff was pharked.

my old lsd (3 diffs ago) would LSD if i went left, but if i went right, it would single wheel - HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING. I changed the diff oil, it helped a little, it lasted about 1.5 years until it completely gave up the ghost... at times it was a bit dangerous as it was completely unpredictable, it would lsd, single wheel, then lsd etc... hated it.

then i went to a minispool... that was cool i liked that, now i have a locker. They are real tyre f**kers tho, tires do not last long even when driving normally.

But yeah i think you should start searching for a new diff =)

Mechanical 2 ways are nice !! but $$$$ hehe. good luck with it.

My friend came back from Japan with a mech 2 way diff and sold it for $800 - $900... hehe cheap cheap. i see them go for around $1000-$1500 tho = I'll have to ask him if he can get another for a decent price.

  • 2 weeks later...

thanks mate

sorry to dig up my older thread but, the reason that it died is because i dodged an accident a while back and hit a kurb with the back wheel (straight on so there was no damage to suspension or anything, but i ave had these problems since...

i baked a set of tyres on the weekend and i think it finally knocked my diff over... im getting weird noises and it open wheels left and right (its raining here at the moment its really dangerous :)) hehhe

a 2-way would be my dream... is it hard to put in yourself? i heard its about a 4 hour job...

    • Crazy how good the aero bar looks compared to the stock one
    • Yes, but you will need to rewire all the things that are different. CAS, coils, etc. Yes, but there is no IAT. What? You can use anything you like. It just has to be hooked up so that it will work.     Or are you wanting to just plug and play without having to do any thinking/work?
    • It's been a little over a decade since I bought the S15. As I did on my socials, I'll share some of my favorite pictures from over the years further below. If you haven't realised, pretty much all the pictures in my posts are ones I've taken.  In terms of updates, I don't have pictures, but I acquired a near-perfect pair of fog lights from a friend of mine, so those got swapped in for the pair I already had. As for the JZX110, I just got it back from being fixed. A few weeks back, I was on the highway when I suddenly drove over something with very little time to react. It was probably the size of a soccer ball, but it went under the car and banged into the underside pretty loudly. I pulled over and realized the fluid leaking was fuel, and of course, it was right near my exhaust. This required replacing the fuel tank. If you happen to be in the same predicament, thankfully this car shares a fuel tank with the JZS171, IS200, and IS300, so it wasn't too painful to replace. Enjoy some pictures as mentioned above, including the carnage from the fuel tank and a bonus picture I came across which shows how ridiculously shiny the Bugels are on the 110. So many more pictures I could share of the S15 but this will do for today, enjoy.
    • Welcome.  Was the mistake the car, or joining us? 😏
