Scott Porter drove his VQ35DETT-powered G35 Infiniti to a world record 6.48 @ 216mph yesterday at Sydney Dragway. This is the baby motor and Scott is still learning the ropes. The quickest he'd gone before this car was 12.5 in his Valiant!

Top effort indeed! Just how far will the times tumble, looks like a lot of improvement can be made... No doubt more updates to come :worship:

Also good to see the GoPro was still there at the end... And CAMS wanna bring in rules and regulations surrounding camera use. If that isn't proof the mounts can withstand the forces/load, i dunno what is.

To give you an idea on how fast this car is. The fastest turbo car in aus runs 6.32 and is a twin turbo 632 cube ford v8

I love VQ motors!!

I love fords more. But you know ;)

Actually it's 5.95 :)

Amazing effort by Scott and Dr Phil Laird! Looked like it did it so easy from where I was sitting!

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
