My car is not an auto. My best time is 14.8 on Sat I was trying for a consistant 15.1.

What do you think about a 2nd gear start I've thought about it . might give it a try this Sat.

I could have cut my throat when I broke out!!!!! I was up against a Wrexxy who dialed in 14.6 and I thought I had a good chance of beating him

182km/h is AWESOME!! You should have enough juice to run an 11 sec pass, and 1.9 60' is excellent, did you run slicks? What were your 660' times and mph?

Hey Squizz, can you let us know about Benaraby. A few of us were talking about going up there, if there's an import meet I would be keen to run the Zed. Is it full 1/4 mile?

TTZ sorry haven't got my time slip (as mentioned it was stolen with some of my other gear only have the ones from earlier in the day but my friend has his and I ran against him will see if he still has it....we weren't too impressed with the times so he probably disposed of it :) . I was running street tyres but got a awesome launch sorted.

Nismo_Boy.. .were you there?

I didn't see the R13. Not that I knew what I was looking for. I also didn't see cam till he ran his first run at night. I think we missed a lot of things :)... But we seemed to be in the stands most of the day. Can you post some pics Nismo_Boy?

hehehe......benaraby.

Imagine Willowbank...

Now remove the buildings and infrastructure. Place a drag strip (1/4 mile) in some bush not far from Gladstone, Qld.

Basicly a piece of bitumen, in the bush with timing equipment. What more do you need?

It is fairly well supported by the Gladstone, Rockhampton & Bundaberg people though. Is fairly surprising the numbers they get, and the Import meet will be well supported by the Gladstone guys, and Squizz and the Kaos crew.

Check out www.benarabyraceway.com

but don't expect too much. :)

Took the words right out of my mouth...

Guest sir calais

Heres some more info on benaraby raceway http://www.benarabyraceway.com/

..... you've got to admit Benaraby has improved from how it was this time two years ago. Least now theres grass on the mound - actually least now theres a mound. All they need now is a decent road to get in there.

Dam I may have to put the TEIN's back in incase I need to turn hard at high speed.....OH crap  I sould them, what am I going to do????? Does sound interesting though......bit like one of those witches-hat slaylem style of events I spose

ok ok ok...lets just say it is still a very good regional track. At least it is full 1/4 mile, better than some. besides the people in Ipswich, how many of us can say they have a decent, legal place to have fun on?

Hey Boosmeister, you thinking of going up for it? Benaraby drags that is.

I will be in Airlie Beach from 18th Oct for a week so if it is around that time I may take a side trip....only problem is it is a long way from home and I'd hate to wreck my holiday if I broke something......especially when the car may be getting sold:eek:

    • I have done a lot of research before posting here and on gtruk forum. couldn't find anything. I have my gauges all part except the needle itself. the needle has a extremely small hole in the center, but the shaft going to the needle is extremely small and appears to have nothing to index it either. doesn't seem strong enough to simple pry or pull without damaging something. Already tried the old spoon trick on a extra triple meter I have from a gtt, but no luck. the center cap comes off easily but the hole in the meter face plate aren't big enough to get over the needle itself. figured this would be my best place to find someone who might have actually removed theirs. wonder if there is some type of small pin press tool to push the pin in while pulling the needle base off.
    • Ok...its taking me long enough to finally do this.  Feck financial security...heart disease will get me soon enough anyway So welcome to the garage..."Clem" Belsil80 has been running a 370Z in Super TT series. So after entering with him in last years Winton 300 i figured I  need my own car. Seems SAU Vic race cars need to be yellow....{tick} Reckon with enough motor i will be able to make up for the lack of talent and stay ahead of the 370Z... but the LS powered S13 and E36s are a ways up the road Aim is to have a car that doesnt stop or turn but has a bit of shed built motor with jam...maybe some cream  First step is getting this ex drift car log booked I am keeping faithful silver car. As the road-club car gets upgrades the race car wil get the sloppy seconds
    • Assuming that they will come off without damage at all.... i would have thought just pull straight up off the spindle with a something or other than can reach underneath. Have you searched for youtube vids of people doing similar on R34s or any other Nissan from the same vintage? They should be the same technique, in all likelihhood.
    • Keeping in mind that sandblasting is really aggressive on softer metals like cast alloy, and you can do damage that you might regret. For trash wheels, not a problem. For wheels with value/scarcity issues, etc.... perhaps a less aggressive media is a better choice?
    • Don't get all high and mighty. Experienced spanner wielders know exactly what effort is required to release an Oof.
