hey everyone...i have recently brought a r33 gts-t...person i got it off says it has 250kw at the rear wheels....a mate finds it hard to believe as its mostly stock.......has stock intercooler....he told me it has a sierra hybrid turbo with custom made wheel (stainless)...it has a boost controlller on it and he said it runs at 12p for the 250kw and can be turned up to 28p for over 500kw...is this all a lie?? i got it pretty cheap and interior is in great condition so i wouldnt be fussed if it was stock power.... i have it booked for a dyno on thursday......any info would be good cheers.....

the dyno will sort out all this for you, post up your results when ya get them

W. C. Fields once said, "There's a fool born every minute"...

and until you mentioned about the low price and the quality of the interior, I was thinking, "Oh no, here we go again!"

We'll be interested not only about the dyno graphs but also what the tuner says he can do within your future budget. Hope it's all good in other areas too.

Cheers,

hahah yer ill post the dyno results when done...everything else is in great condition on it...guy has owned it for 14 years and imported it himself....it drives very well and does go a tad harder than a few mates stocks....but only a tad...interior is brand now and body is perfect which made me pretty much buy it.....aint a a fool buddy...looked at a few before this one and what people want for pieces of shit is a joke haha ill post dyno results in 3days when its done

haha a getz?? would be ashamed if my mum had one of them... all good i paid 8000 for it with a new set of tyres and roadworthy so i dont mind

that's not that cheap. that's about normal price for them.

based on all the other crap the guy said, i highly doubt that too. but looking at thecompliance plate will tell you when it was imported so you can see for yourself when it was complianced

yer stock ecu hugh...well it is but not roadworthied and immaculate condition which i couldnt find one like...also has near new triple plate clutch which im sure of cuz mate did it for him so i knew thats not a lie....well a anyway im happy with it and will make it much better in the next few months anyway....and yer terry i do know i was just saying

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
