Hi guys,

Just wondering if any other premium owners have experience a rip on the right hand side of the drivers seat? Like below -

Mine is ripped in the same place, except worse! Its really annoying because apart from that my interior is immaculate, so I'm having to use an ugly seat cover to conceal which ruins the interior look :(

Just trying to get an idea as to what my options are - has anyone been able to get this fixed? and did it come out well? and roughly how much would I be looking at to get it done?

Not too sure about upholstery places in SA

Cheers

Hey, Im 90% sure every V owner with leader has this issue, possible 350z's aswell.

The seat was made really badly, I believe there is a big metal bar right in that part of the seat which is also where a lot of your weight goes (specially when exiting the car).

Mine's the same.

When i was buying my V, i checkedout around 15 of them before settling on the one I was most happy with.

Every single one I saw with leather seats had a rip in that spot, bad design but can be fairly easily fixed.

My seats ain't leather nor ripped but the bucket style has got problems if not designed and made with reinforcement. The cushion of the flared out part on the right side next to my right leg of my seat is deflated, cause I sat on it or had my weight on it a few times. :(

I recall there was an issue with the metal frame around the seat controls causing damage to the leather too.

I get the impression Nissan designed the seat frames for fabric, and then decided to go with leather at a later date without modifying the seat frame to suit..

    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
    • That's one of the reasons I got that breed, they look weird, the other reasons are they small, they are very vocal, and run around like they are on crack, I didn't want a breed that just sits around, these two are like kids on red cordial  My daughter has one, and it's a laugh riot, constantly doing Parkour around the house, sits on her shoulder, plays catch, and constantly runs around the house taking turns chasing the dog around, her Bermese though, just lays around with constant bitch face, and just looks on in utter disgust at the cat and dog playing together
    • I'm getting PTSD flashbacks seeing that name again.  With my turbo swift, I got 1,500km of street use on a Jim Berry clutch before it exploded and took out my input shaft with it.
