I love this guy, makes a thread to ask our opinions on which turbo is right for him..

So we all give our opinion that he should mod other things before worrying about a turbo.

A week later he wants a 3037

Next week it will be NOS, 2 of the big ones. We will tell him NOS is for amateurs but he won't listen and then he won't listen when his laptop tells him "DANGER TO MANIFOLD", he will blow the welds on his intake and fry his piston rings cause he was granny shifting and not double clutching when he should..

Anyway we all know the story, base line is..Mia I'm a cop. ..

Actually i was told that the stock turbo in my car was a piece of shit and that i should throw it out and get a new one by multiple people. Thus why the thread started, i came here for advice. So if you dont have any useful advice other than your amazing sarcasm, simply click the 'next thread' button. Thanks.

If you want to skimp on cost, get a z32 ecu and put a nistune board in it and then get a profec b boost controller or something similar. Should cost about $850 or so.

If you can get a 3037 or 2835 pro s by all means do it, neither will dissapoint you but they are a little harder to come by these days. A gt3076r or gt3071 will be good options as well or look at the hypergear range such as an ss1pu or the G3/2.5. You need to decide if you want to run internal or external gate though. Seeing as you seem like your are new to everything i think you would be best served going internal gate and if you want the turbo to bolt up to the stock exhaust pipe then a hypergear will suit you. You can get gt3076 turbos with the nissan 6 bolt dump pattern but they apparently arent the greatest.

On top of the turbo and ecu the other things you will need:

3"+ metal intake pipe

Front mount intercooler

3"+ turbo back exhaust

555cc+ injectors (if e85 you will need bigger)

Upgraded fuel pump (nismo/tomei and bosch are good)

Z32 air flow meter

A clutch capable of holding around 300kw

Set aside $$ for the possibility of new coilpacks as well

Im sure there are probably other things you will need as well, but thats all i can think of off the top of my head.

I recommend you do a lot of reading and searching through threads in this section as all the info you need is here

I think ill go with the power fc to be honest, it has a MAP sensor so i dont need an afm.

Definately want to go internal wastegate but ill do some more research

already have 3" exhaust, intercooler and i have added 840cc injectors to my list and a 040 bosch pump, ill do some research about a clutch, any recommendations?

Cheers.

lol...I honestly never saw that there before...

ok heres my 2c...call hypergear, get a turbo and an adaptronic ecu off him if he still has any

or theres one here and get a 3076 if you dont want hypergear..

comes with built in MAP..if your tuner tells you its no good tell him to get his shit together cause its a perfectly capable unit (i know cause i have one) and you wont get better for that price unless you buy a used pfc or something which are getting alot cheaper these days

then get the best injectors and fuel pump (wired for full voltage) you can find..NPC clutches are great value too

for around 3k (which will easily blow out to 5k) you will be super fast...job done...

for the money it would cost to setup a 3037 (which really should be mounted to a decent manifold to be effective anyway) you could setup a t67 kando and be just as fast if not faster. there is far better ways to spend your coin than just getting a 3037

You cant just roll in here and say Which turbo is best, cause there is so many variables as to which turbo is best for your situation..whats the car used for drag, drift, burnouts, track how much money do you have to spend, is it daily driven yadda yadda yadda...but if you did a little research you would know this already..

as they say, ask a stupid question , get a stupid answer... :)

    • Thank you, 100% the intent. New coils were due and the 17" sixers look/feel loads better than the stock wheels. The aero options are so spot on.   Thanks for the warm welcome, all!
    • 98 r34 gtt Been rocking my latest setup and car running like never before. Have put a good 200 miles on it since all the latest changes and additions. everything is dialed in and have been driving it a bunch.   However, all a sudden last weekend as soon as I pushed throttle passed 4k and the engine stumbles, (slow or fast acceleration) hesitates and doesn’t go above 4100 or so, like a misfire. Everything else seems fine. I had a “good” set of coil packs that I removed from car when I first got it when I changed them over to new coils. I swapped out current ones for those, but no change. I also changed the plugs, no change. Seems to rev over 4 when out of gear with no load just fine no “misfire”, but as soon as its in gear with a load of any kind, it “misfires” as soon as rpm drop back below 4 k it runs perfectly, smooth, starts, restarts and drives fine as long as I keep it below 4 k while in gear. All readings look fine, no CEL   Any idea as to what could all a sudden cause an issue when pushing rpms passed 4 k?
    • When you say your cams are 272/262 is that 272in and 262ex?
    • We're arguing semantics. I am saying 45 accel and a 55 deccel ramp are "2 ways". Even a 45 degree ramp and an 89 degree ramp is "2 ways", because it is literally... two ways. The cusco 55/30 ramp is a 2 way. It's two ways. I get it though - in normal nomenclature a "2 way" would be 45/45 or 55/55 or 60/60 i.e the same locking in both directions. And something like 45/65 would be considered "1.5 way". I would then say if we're getting into the nitty gritty then every locking diff is a "2 way" diff and we should not speak in 1.5, or 2 ways but ramp angles instead. Which ofc if one of those ramp angles is 90deg, that side is not doing any locking. :p So Nismo don't obviously sell 3 things. The fact of the matter that they only sell two items really goes to show that there's a 2 way and a "1,5 way" which is really a 1 way. I believe the actual lockup for the 'adjustability' of the GT pro is really just setting preload for when the ramps actually start locking up. It's not changing how much 'wayness' there is. It is (somehow) horribly explained. People just buy whatever diff and go "locks up good bruh" and that's what ends up on socials forever.
