No i didnt get the paperwork from Japan, i know when the car was imported and by who it was brought in in 2009 buy autostyle performance in sydney, bought buy a guy in his 20s from QLD then sold to the guy in TAS in the space of 6 months of it getting into AUS. Tried to contact auto style about it, apparently they changed owners so they didnt have the details from the cars previously brought in.

Im not to fussed buy it, i had a limited amout of time to find one as i needed a car since i sold my last one, it passed all the mechanical checkes and a miss aligned panel does not rly fase me that much i can just take it to one of the shops in syd and have them take it off and align it properly. and for the price i paid im happy with it.

Yeah, it wouldn't be anything major to worry about, only a minor issue. Plenty of cars come over from Japan with a lot more than just one misaligned panel..

A panel shop would be able to align it properly....if you decide to go through with it I can recommend you a panel shop that I can vouch for and know does great quality work (and won't rip you off).

+1, this forum rly needs a dam like button :woot:

And a dislike button!

I cant remember which forum had that but it failed epically lol Might have been hardtuned back in the day.....

If they had a dislike button Benjis accident damage speel would probably crash the server with dislikes............. Maybe add a STFU button to save us typing so much?

If its the one with the stud and you have no other tools try getting the socket on the nut with no extension or ratchet and go from there..............

Yea got some spanners, but none the right size unfortunately! And yea tried without the extension, couldn't get enough force onit to budge it. Jarrads bringing me some tools haha

Yeh once i get the engine all sorted and a set of rims, the current rims are apparently GTR NUR spec NT03-M in white and when i had the rear tyres changed found out 1 rim was buckled -_- just an excuse for me to get a set of TE37's or GT-C  after that if all is well with her then ill see about the panel.

Oh shit! Say goodbye to your GTR.............

Cant repair the rim?

Haha he's not staying to help... But I'm far worse than he is haha

Oh god! haha........... Post on here or call me if you have any dramas........... Im here until 5, IF you are stuck just let me know and ill head over after work and give you a hand :)

I'm not very happy with the paint on my car...it's all original but it's in pretty meh condition.

Also I've noticed a small crease just about the wheel arch which is causing a sort of swirl effect....sooo

In all honesty once I get the money I'd like a full respray...

Just need to get the VIN number of a MNPIII R34 GTR and buy the paint from Nissan....might have to bribe someone who owns a MNPIII R34 (you need to own a MNPIII R34 GTR to be able to buy the paint from Nissan)...

ORRR, i wouldnt mind this blue colour

well i dont have any other rim to put on the car when it gets fixed, and long story short, needs more poke for street cred + track set with slicks.

Oh you one of these "Poke" people eh? You and Chookie will got on well

I am form over function, Chookie is....................................... Well a clown

haha all good though, ill take the piss outta ya for BOV's etc but everyone has their own taste, In this Newy/Coast section we all get along well (Benji drives us mad but what do ya do).............

Benji you cant afford to do anything on your car for now while you are studying so PLEASE dont put up all your build crap in here as we know its not going to happen, put it in your epic build thread and we will come look!

Appreciate it mate, and will do. Should be right, seems I only need to remove that one other bolt, then move the bracket and unscrew. Should be able to tackle it haha...

All good, just make sure you post the pic as i wanna seeeeeeeeeeeee :woot:

Yea will do mate, I was hoping to get a pic off to the guys at JEM before 5..... It's looking doubtful now though

Lol...a man can have dreams!

33 days till I get my full licence.

Also got the shits with uni assignments, as some lecturers use the "problem based learning" style of the course as an excuse to provide these vague, indirect answers to questions.

Contract Admin Assignment 1 + 2 = 32,000 words total (good lecturer who is very helpful, but I am a wizard at this subject). COMPLETE

Fire Safety = Assign 1 7500 words + X (2nd assignment Im having trouble with) + Assign 3 2000 words = 9500 words + X

Infrastructure Development = done 2 quizzes (structural eng + geotech), but havent started the infrastructure report which I expect to be 20,000 words. But lecturer refuses to help anyone with the vague assignment brief which can be interpreted many ways.

MacroEconomics = Elective subject which I am pwning.

Workload is absolutely ridiculous and I basically have no social life or Vitamin D atm.

Havent seen sunlight in days.

Fire is due oct.25th and Infrastructure is due nov.2nd

They are there to 5.30 a lot i think man! So keep at it ;)

Yeh i think mine may have been in a prang in japan b4 it was brought over, front drivers fender seems a little bit off, i didnt notice it when i went to inspect/pick it up from TAS, emotions got the better of me i was awed by the presence of a GTR i was about to buy . Passed mechanical inspection and turbos where checked for freeplay so all was good on that end.

I done the exact same thing. I did look at another 2 shitter GTR's before i bought mine though just to make sure. A small prang is nothing to worry about as long as there's no chaisis damage.

Yesturday i found out mine is a cold weather spec r34 gtr - rare packge, but means it definatly spent some time on salted roads.

:domokun:

:domokun:

Yeah, the panel gaps for R34's are usually spot on and to within a pooftenth of a millimetre.

Unequal panel gaps usually does indicate there is some underlying accident damage. Check the bolts of the panel and if they have been repainted then it means the panel has been taken off before.

r34's are not spot on....look where the rear lights meet the boot. Lexus has good panel gaps...nissans not so much

Plenty of MP3 vins in the nissan fast section... just requires a bit of searching

    • Had I known the diff between R32 and R33 suspension I would have R33 suspension. That ship has sailed so I'm doing my best to replicate a drop spindle without spending $4k on a Billet one.
    • OEM suspension starts to bind as soon as the car gets away from stock height. I locked in the caster and camber before cutting off the kingpin. I then let the upright down in a natural (unbound) state before re-attaching it. Now it moves freely in bump and droop relative to the new ride height. My plan is to add GKTech arms before the car is finished so I can dial camber and caster further. It will be fine. This isn't rocket science. Caster looks good, camber is good, upper arm doesn't cause crazy gain and it is now closer to the stock angle and bump steer checks out. Send it.
    • Pay careful attention to the kinematics of that upper arm. The bloody things don't work properly even on a normal stock height R32. Nissan really screwed the pooch on that one. The fixes have included changing the hole locations on the bracket to change the angle of the inner pivot (which was fairly successful but usually makes it impossible to install or remove the arm without unbolting the bracket from the tower, which sucks) and various swivelling upper arm designs. ALL the swivelling upper arm designs that look like a capital I (with serifs) suck. All of them. Some of them are in fact terribly unsafe. Even the best one of them (the old UAS design) shat itself in short order on my car. The only upper arm that works as advertised and is pretty safe is the GKTech one. But it is high maintenance on a street car. I'm guessing that a 600HP car as (stupidly, IMO) low as you are going is not going to be a regular driver. So the maintenance issues on suspension parts are probably not going to be a problem. But you really must make sure that however your fairly drastically modded suspension ends up, that the upper arms swing through an arc that wants to keep the inner and outer bolts parallel. If the outer end travels through an arc that makes that end's bolt want to skew away from parallel with the inner bolt, you will build up enormous binding and compressing forces in the bushes, chew them out and hate life. The suspension compliance can actually be dominated by the bush binding, not the spring rate! It may be the case that even something like the GKTech arm won't work if your suspension kinematics become too weird, courtesy of all the cut and shut going on. Although you at least say there's no binding now, so maybe you're OK. Seeing as you're in the build phase, you could consider using R33/4 type upper arms (either that actual arm, OEM or aftermarket) or any similar wishbone designed to suit your available space, so alleviate the silliness of the R32 design. Then you can locate your inner pivots to provide the correct kinematics (camber gain on compression, etc).
    • The frontend wouldn't go low enough because the coilover was max low and the upper control arm would collapse into itself and potentially bottom out in the strut tower. I made a brace and cut off the kingpin and then moved the upright down 1.25" and welded. i still have to finish but this gives an idea. Now I can have a normal 3.25" of shock travel and things aren't binding. I'm also dropping the lower arm and tie rod 1.25".
    • Motor and body mockup. Wheel fitment and ride height not set. Last pic shows front ride height after modifying the front uprights to make a 1.25" drop spindle.
