haha nice man, that may set you back a bit, im looking at getting wheels from a fridge trolley from supercheap then letting the air out, putting a pvc pipe over each wheel then pumping the tyres back up, cheap and easy.

would also need bearings and maybe a new slightly bigger axle to fit the new wheels and then should be sorted.

wedge_r34gtr i read that you removed some BOV from ur GTR and u are putting the stock ones back on, would you like to part with the ones u have taken off as long as they are in good condition?

At this stage they will be going back on the car temporarly as i don't have time to sort the recirculation piping. But in a month or so they will be coming back off. (btw - there HKS SSQS - they have a bit of gasket goo on em, but i'll be giving them a service before they go back on the car, so they will be in great condition mecanically)

Could you not use a go kart axle and wheels?

Or would that blow the budget out to much?

Come up to newy then :)

If not just go down the pass ya pussy. f**k I miss that road...

Yeah that's what the pros use Martin but your looking at ATLEAST 50 bucks for wheels an worn out tyres (you don't need tyre thread)

The axle would be around 50 and then wheel hubs to keep them on. So looking to find fridge trolley therefrom the tip or something haha

Well let me know when u take the off and dont need them, ill talk price with you then

hey guys, when i dont start my car for a week my car blows rich as f**k white smoke (smells f**kin lovely).

why does it do this?? if it was just over fueling from being in the lines itd do it every time i turn it off and let it cool down, but it has to be atleast a week.

so it must be on purpose? is there a reason any one knows of?

White smoke = burnt oil.

maybe the turbo has shit itself

The white smoke is generally associated with turbos shitting themselves from what ive read

/a blown turbo seal leaks oil straight into exhaust

http://www.gtr.co.uk...smoke-help.html

Inspected an S15 with a blown turbo and a f**k off massive cloud of white smoke came out of the exhaust when the guy accelerated and drove off.

Burning oil is black I'm pretty sure. And it boosts hard so the turbo is fine.

I'm pretty sure white smoke is fuel and blue smoke is water (head gasket)

Plus is smells like fuel. Just rich as f**k fuel. It's nice. Only happens for around 20 seconds if it happens at all.

It's done it since I got it and had it as a weekend. Since then 3 track days 2 skid days so it's not an issue.

Martin and Luke are correct.

i've never heard of a blown turbo causing white smoke...Even that link you posted was unconfirmed.

I'd say the s15 you looked at had a leaking head gasket in additon to the blown turbo.

Keep an eye on it Jarad. It may be just conensation build up. if it appears to be getting worse, take it to a dyno and get em to drop a pressure sensor into the cooling system. They will be able to pickup the pressure spike if you have a leaky head gasket.

Wedge....

take a look at this link... re: white smoke

http://www.skylinesa...-car-potential/

they suggest it can also be caused by turbo or cracked piston or cracked cylinder =S

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
