Hey guys,

Just a quick question.. Some skyline parts are interchangable between the series, are driveshafts a case of this,

Is the R32 coupe and four door same length? or R34 -R33 Coupes to four doors the same?

I have a mate who has done a manual conversion in his 34 which is a four door but he is having a hard time finding a driveshaft from a 34 four door so I have kindly lent him mine to get his going but im wanting to get it back in a few weeks but he isnt having any luck locating a driveshaft so we are thinking of looking outside the 34 range and wondering if a 33 sedan or even something in the 32's would do the job.

Any input is much appreciated,

Cheers

Are you talking about drieshafts (from diff to hubs) or the tailshaft (between gearbox and diff)?

Driveshafts are all essentially the same. Tailshafts are different. Drastically different between R32 and R33 for example.

As to whether tailshafts are the same length between 2 door and 4 door cars.....I haven't had any love for 4 door Skylines, so I don't know for sure, but the cars are slightly longer aren't they? In which case either the front half or the rear half of the tailshaft will be longer.

Oh come on man 4 doors are heaps better than 2

Tailshafts are the same length in 32's with coupes and 4 doors

    • I've replaced the front brakes of my NA to 324 brembos and 350z calipers: i'm going for 225/40-18 up front and 245/35-18 in the back. I have Rays 7.5*19 ET35(225/35) in the front with 5mm spacers otherwise the calipers "lock up/ won't rotate". When i use the calculator i come up with 8*18 ET30 for 225/40...... but not sure i get problems with the calipers. Anyone riding around with 18 inch. that can confirm "that it'll fit"? In the back it's 7.5*9 ET30 (245/30) with the 5mm spacers, but there is no problem with the standard small brakes, so i want to take 8.5*18 ET25 (245/35).
    • Lol.. but then.. always come back to a JDM..
    • Glad to hear. If possible, get your tuner to check air's to make sure everything is still where it should be.
    • The problem with FB/Insta/Reddit etc comments relating to cars is simple. You get to ask a question once, and get one round of replies. For things that can actually be answered in a few lines of text, once, it's fine. After 6 hours, your original question is lost to the void. There are no follow ups, additional questions, anything. No project car is ever such a simple list of questions to ask. You need discussion.
    • Welcome.  Here's what I have noticed about forum vs FB..... FB; seems to be wallet racing, and the same few questions asked over and over. There *may* be some groups that are closer knit, but most have changed for the worse. SAU; unfortunately, no longer in its glory days. But....genuine people with similar interests. Not all about how much you spent and saying you dont have enough power. Sooooooo much knowledge available. Have personally seen people post up about literally topics I made myself, asking on FB like no one has done it before. Most has been done, and most of that is here.   If you ever feel like just general chatting theres the wasteland.  Other interests are also generally covered in other areas of the forum. Hope you enjoy hanging around. We would love to have you.   P.s. nice 32 😀
