Get it through street to track. He gets them from ATP turbo in the states an I reckon it would be half the price including postage to your door, compared to the gcg link.

The dollar is pretty decent at the moment as well

wow expensive yes!, but then again that is a genuine Garrett housing and EVERYTHING else is aftermarket, they are apparently cast with different materials as well, some high nickel ni-resist material something or rather =S

More or less true yes, but its not worth 900.

Like someone said already itd be worth half that out of the states. Actually let me confirm that...............................

Same genuine item, with a realistic cost (still a lot of money but its swallowable).

I hope that helps.

So this will fit the GTX3076R as well?

different units, different part numbers GCG listing is the dearer version with upgraded wastegate valve.

Still doesn't matter, with the way the dollar is now why wouldn't u buy one overseas hahaha xD

On a different note, +1 on something wrong with set up hahah, blocked/restrictive cat perhaps? you can still make that same power with a 0.63a/r + more, will just run a bit hotter, don't necessarily need a 0.82a/r

So this will fit the GTX3076R as well?

They are interchangeable, only thing that changes in a GTX unit is compressor wheel and surge slotted comp cover

I had the .82 IW garret on mine, then the .63 external now the .82 external.

.82 was a bit laggy, full boost around 4200, .63 full boost by 3500, .82 external at 3800.

all different to drive

Which do you prefer? Do you have a build thread etc? Interesting to hear the differences between the housings :)

I thought gt3076 had a port shrouded compressor inlet as well?

Maybe it was just a pic of the gtx advertised a the gt that I have seen...

You can have it with or without... Mine has the 4in inlet and surge slots, sounds mental too...

yeah id like to know what was preferred most also

No build thread, sadly a bit too muchtime and effort these days. mostly just spam my Facebook with update pics

The .82 internal did its job, but the control of the internal gate is destroyed by external. From that experience if i was to put a large turbo on a car again, IW wouldnt even cross my mind.

the .63 was good, and to be honest it would probably still be on the car if it wasnt for an issue we thought i was having when i put the .63 in there. (turned out not to be the turbo) which was good but id had already bought the .82 to try and solve the issue.

the .82 external isnt very laggy imo, full boost in 4th is around the 3800 mark (19psi) and im pretty happy with that for what it is. overlaying the .63 and the .82 on the dyno the .63 is on about 300-400rpm earlier, but did make a little less in the top end, In saying that 2 mates have the same set up but with a .63 on their neo motor and didnt see the fall in the top end that my 33 did

End of the day car is a daily that sees a bit of track work, so for that effort the .82 is staying on.

the last 2 times we went to do a power run on 19psi turned out to be 40+ degree days. so we never got a proper run. since then ive had a low mount manifold made and installed, and tomorrow ill be going from 3" stainless steel to 4: titanium, so ill try and get some kind of power run in next week

What pressure springs are you guys using in your wastegates, for the earliest response is it best to run as close to the pressure you want

for example, a tial44mm external and want to run say 20psi, what spring pressure would you want ( assuming you have an electronic boost controller)

pretty sure the one in mine is a 12psi spring, so wondering if it would get better response with a 16psi spring in there?

I run 1 bar of spring, then use the mac valve to push boost pressure on to the top of the gate, helping hold it down. Works better with a 5 port mac valve like mine but the 3 port ones can be setup like that too. I can hold any boost now.

looking at my boost curve seems like the spring or the duty cycle was not done right, maybe resulting in a lazy boost curve etc.. looks like its heading for full boost at or before 4000rpm which is whats the norm round here but then take a further 500rpm or more to get from 15 to 18psi, so yeah i think the spring may need changed to a 1 bar spring and the controller adjusted for a more aggressive build up,

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
