Hey Guys, this is my first thread on here, hopefully some of you find it useful.

I have been searching and trying to work out what each car will come with in the auctions is a headache. Asking an importer to look at 4 cars a day to find out they arent a premium isnt fair, so i decided to work it out for myself.

What you need to do is find the car up for auction on this site: http://jpcenter.ru/

Once you found the car, click on the "MONTH OF PRODUCTION" button

Type the cars Japanese VIN in there, for a v35 Coupe it will be CPV35-XXXXXX where the X's will be a number on your auction sheet.

From there you need the "code of a model"

The one im doing for this test looks like this - GLJARVNV35EDAA-C--

The first lot of numbers in the code are unimportant, you know what they represent by looking at the car

The important numbers/letters start from the number 7.

7 = Your transmission type, where N is 5 speed auto, i think manual will probably be M

After that nothings important until 14, where 14,15,16,17,18 represent what factory option packs you have :)

Please note i only had access to the sedan one and i dont speak japanese well so there could very well be mistakes or options missing

14 is concerned with what external options you have

The possible options are

GLSSW = Privacy Glass

COAT2 = "Bok Doko - eight off seven in a superuser" (WTF does this mean?)

DWHLV = 17 215/55 wheels/tyres

ROOF3 = Garasusanru electric step (sunroof?)

Option 15 is to do with navigation

- = Regular

(A) TELv2 - Tv Navigation DVD (shiki?)

(B) ETCS2 - ETC + TV Navigation Formula DVD

©TELV4 - Navigation with CD

Option 16 is to do with the CD player

CLAS2 = BOSE plus dual zone climate control (Premium pack?)

CLAS3 = ??? with BOSE

CLAS4 = ??? with BOSE

CLAS5 = ??? without BOSE

CLAS6 = ??? without BOSE

STDv4 = Leather Fronts

BLTT5 = 3 point type seatbelt, Power drivers seat?

SPI3 = one rear wiper frame a rear spoiler and opening

SPI2 = Rear spoiler and a link frame □ Assignable

Option 17 is to do with performance options

ACCS3 = Adaptive Cruise Control system

VDCs2 = VDC

DIFF6 = LSD

I will post up an image soon so you can reference what yours will have :) Happy shopping!

Some further translations:

Clas3 - P collection with BOSE

Clas4 - S collection with BOSE

Clas5 - P collection without BOSE

Clas6 - S collection without BOSE

STDV4 - Leather Seat with Heating Front Only

BLTT5 - 3 seatbelt rear with curtain airbag and active head restraint

SPOI3 - Rear spoiler with side skirts and rear wiper

SPOI2 0 Rear spoiler with side skirts

I have no idea what the difference is between a P collection and a S collection. Presumably P means Premium and S means Sports. Looks like Nissan had the "S" and "P" designations for the V35 as well (as is the case with the V36).

Sorry to trawl this thread up from the past, I have been using your codes to browse and I can say they aren't accurate for sedans past 03 (believe me I just bought an '03 with a D code Option 16 and it doesn't have side airbags, it has the heated seats with full leather option, but i already knew that before buying it). I did however find a better way by accident today, it is quicker and it doesn't require translation:

go here

http://nissan.epc-data.com/

type in the japanese VIN in the section that says: "Please enter full frame number:"

you will then get to a page like this: (here is one i prepared earlier with alot of options)

http://nissan.epc-data.com/skyline/hv35/6820-vq30dd/?frame_no=hv35-204441

if you look at the "Spec code" section it will give you the option code (similar to those in the original post) if you hover over it, it will give you a tooltip with an explanation of which code is which IN ENGLISH.

Enjoy! and I assume this does more than just V35s!

This webpage - http://nissan.epc-data.com/skyline/v35/6815-vq25dd/body/680/68520/ suggests that it is either 250GTM Navi Edition or 350GT Premium Leather Package (as opposed to CLAS8 which is Premium Spec).

I found another page that says it's navi edition for a Stagea NM35, so that ties in with the above. Do you have factory nav?

    • The powder coating came in at $250 EACH. The TRX rims got a coat of clearcoat on the outside only.

    • Keeping in mind that I am currently getting flat 10 L/100km on my RB25DET, which means >>500km/tank. I would test this car for vacuum leaks, check codes and AFM signal with NissDataScan as D says, check plugs, do a compression check while they are out.
    • It is hard to be specific half way across the world...but it *seems* like it might have a minor issue. Is the idle stable and does it rev smoothly? I would not expect any pops out of what I am assuming is a standard ECU, standard tune, standard exhaust. You can use Nissan Data Scan to find out exactly what is happening when it runs, the cable/software is reasonably affordable if you are not planning on changing the ECU (which hopefully you are not with an NA skyline) BTW your mileage may not be that far off, these are heavy old tech cars, and being NA might mean you use a heavy foot to keep up with traffic....
    • Hey guys! Y'all are the masters so figured I'd check in on a few items here. - My engine sounds ever-so-slightly more raspy than the other NA RB25s I've listened to. It's barely noticeable but definitely a slightly different sound. - When I back off the throttle at high RPM, I will sometimes get a pop out of the exhaust, assuming this can be diagnosed as misfire. Some history on the car: - Had an exhaust leak in auction sheet but was claimed to be fixed by seller (bought from USA importer).  - Car's coil packs and sparks were replaced when it was sold to me, but unsure on what the gap is and whether the coil packs are correct.  - A prior mechanic had misdiagnosed a pilot or throwout bearing sound as LSPI/detonation. Had played with timing a bit, pops/raspy sound of engine just got worse. Got timing reset. - Had failed emissions a few times. First time went in as is, failed. Second time, replaced cat, still failed, running rich as hell. Third time replaced o2 sensor, passed. Car still smells gassy though. - Timing belt and valve cover gasket also replaced.  - Gas mileage is... low. about 350-400K per tank.  Any idea if I'm having any serious issues here or does this all sound like normal old NA RB stuff and I'm fine to drive it with the pops/slightly raspy engine? If it'll help, I can get drop a video of the sound of the engine.
