Hey guys I was just looking at the Tein japan website and the spring kits for them have different models:

For e.g. The G35 has two different spring kits available: The S-Tech and the H-Tech, the S-tech giving a lower drop than H-tech. While if you look up the 350GT it's only got the H-tech available for them and not only that, the drop isn't as low as either of the kits available for the G35. Can anybody shed some light on this? Aren't they the same car which should mean they should have the same suspension?

Note. Car is Nissan skyline V36 sedan 4 350GT 2007/ Infinit G35 Sedan 4 Door 2007

I'll give my 2 cents worth here rather than over on G35driver.... It could be that they offer a number of different models in the G35 including an all wheel drive version - they have (as far as I can tell) the base, Journey, Sport and X which is AWD. This may be the reason, perhaps others can confirm and/or deny. From what I've read on G35driver with the Tein there is a good chance you'll need a camber kit whereas with the Eibach maybe not - again probably some experience in here that can confirm.

yep the year models in the US are "wrong" compared to japan. they started 2 years behind, and somewhere later they became just 1 year behind.

usually referring to a series one or series 2 of a particular body type (35, 36, 37) if applicable will be more accurate than the actual year.

the G37 is the V36 370GT, the G35 covers our V35 and V36 350GT.

The infiniti model numbers signify the engine size not the series.. the G25 is the V36 250GT.

I think Brad is probably on the right track.. the AWD G35 will have some differences.. as far as I know the RWD G35 (up to 2006) suspension setup is the same as our V35.

AWD G35 is the same suspension setup as AWD M35 Stagea's (2001-2007)... either NM35 or PM35.

What makes you think your car is a USDM G35? I assume you have a V36 and someone has put Infiniti badges on it. You cannot import G35s into Australia, and they are all LHD.

Thanks again guys for the replies, I appreciate the input and it's cleared up my confusion on the topic.

Andrew I ordered a V36 but I asked my importer to check for me and his said it's a G35 model because he saw the analogue clock on the dash (apparently USDM only) and although it's debadged the steering wheel symbol is infinity not G35 hence the confusion.

Is it left hand drive? The clock can be added and the steering wheel changed easy enough. I am quite certain that under RAWS G35s in any form cannot be imported. Unless it is a convertible out of Europe - there are a few of those floating around - pretty sure they only started making those in 2009 though.

smoke and mirrors can turn a G35 into a V35, didnt you know? headlights arent a problem either

also youre right, there are NO USDM G35/36/37s in australia and registered. maybe there are a few track only ones.

Almost.. G35 = V35 350GT and V36 350GT (sometimes called 2nd gen G35). G37 = V36 370GT.

The Infiniti model numbers signify engine size... thus no G36 as there is no 3.6L version..

There is now an Infiniti G25.. as you can guess it is basically a V36 250GT..

Same applies for the rest of the Infiniti models.. eg. M37 is a 3.7L V6.. M56 is a 5.6L V8.. etc..

Currently true.. all G37s will look that same as our V36..

but the 2007+ G35 is also the same as our V36.. and if the next series of skyline (V37), has a 3.7L engine, it will also be called a G37 in USA. So it could be potenitally misleading to make a direct G vs V comparson.

    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
    • I wanted to try and preserve the front bumper as long as possible, they're not cheap and are made to order in Japan. Taking inspiration from my previous K11 Micra build where I made an undertray for the Impul bumper, I did the same for this BN Sports bumper but a little slimmed down.  This time round I only made a 'skid plate' (if that's the correct wording/term) for just the bumper surface area, the Micra version covered the gap like an undertray. Starting off with a sheet of mild steel approx. 0.9mm thick 4ft x 2ft in size. I traced around the bumper, cut it out and cleaned the edges. Luckily I was able to get two halves from one piece of metal In the video I installed it as is, but I've since then I've removed it to spray and add a rubber edging trim. The rubber trim is suitable for 1-2mm and it's a really nice tight fit. The bolts had to be loosened due to the plates being too tight against the bumper, the trim wouldn't push on I used some stainless M6 flat headed bolts for a flusher finish (rather than hex heads poking down), I believe this style fastener is used for furniture too incase you struggle to source some. The corner's are a little wider, but this may be an advantage incase I get close to bumping it  The front grill got some attention, finally getting round to repairing it. Upon removal one fixing pulled itself out of the plastic frame, one side is M8 that fixes inside of the frame, where as the other side is M5. Not knowing I could get replacements, I cut down an M8 bolt, threaded it inside the frame along with a decent amount of JB Weld.  The mesh was replaced to match the bumper. One hole on the bonnet/hood had to be drilled out to 8mm to accommodate the new stud, once the glue had set it could be refitted. I think the reason the grill was double meshed was to hide the horn/bonnet latch (which makes sense) but I much prefer it matching the bumper Bumper refitted and it's looking much better IMO The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVZP35io9MA
