Hey guyz,

anyone know if it is possible to fit 2 10" subs in the boot?

i checked a few subs online that come with boxes and the measurements all look too big.

they are all about 38cm high and i dont think it will fit.

anyone managed to fit 2 subs in?

Pics?

Cheers.

I haven't been in the high end car stereo scene for about 10 years. But JL Audio used to make great subs. Dual 8ohm voice coils, wired in parallel drops the unit to 4 ohms. Then wire two of them in parallel for a 2 ohm box. Run if off a big alpine V12 amp.

jaycar amps have always proved themselves...

ive had dramas with jaycar woofers tho... all have let go of voice coils... without overpowering.

VDO dayton woofers and Jaycar amps were the best combination ive heard in a sedan.

whatever you do, make sure everything is power matched, and the box is tuned. cables can never be too thick in gauge.

ive got some oldschool basic box design programs i can throw on a disc if anyone is interested

Thanx for the reply guyz, appreciate it.

i currently have a soundstream stealth 700wrms @ 2ohm amp waiting to go in the boot and that is why i am finding it difficult to get subs to match.

maybe i will check out alberts.

You can do what I've go done (only one side though), a custom side mount box for both sides if you want two subs, but the subs is best to be ten inches (you might get away with twelve inches but less space) and you will have to remove or relocate your jack.

OK maybe someone can explain this ohm thing to me.

I have the following amp which is rated 700watts RMS at 2ohms and 1200watts RMS at 1 ohm

And i found the following sub that may fit in my boot. but it is 500watts RMS at 4 ohms.

Will this do? i am not after loud music, i just want clean bass at low levels and once in a high level.

Or this sub which is a 600 Watts RMS at 1 ohm.

Cheers guyz.

Wow that looks awesome 81gSKy

How much would that cost? i am not good with tools.

I'm not either, best to order it from the States cause they already have them made from moulds, instead of some guy doing it for the first time fiddling around. It pretty much slots in, plug and play, have a look on eBay or other V35 or G35 related sites and forums. Last time I saw it was about $350 each side, there's some fibreglass work as well hence the price.

    • Yep that's pretty much what I want to see. Racecars that look and sound like the Group A but with newer tech underneath to make them faster and safer. I'm sure there's enough VK-to-VN commodore, E30 BMWs and Foxbody mustangs shells around to make up a decent number of cars with hopefully a couple of sierras, rx7 and R31s in there too.
    • Contact Jessestreeter.com/Skevas Racing/JustJap for a new r34 rb gearbox or go a cd00# conversion. No point playing with unknown condition gearboxes.
    • Such a shame places like Amaroo Park have been redeveloped, smaller tracks always make for good racing. Cheers for sharing @PranK there's some good Lakeside video's too. Its so hard with older the cars as parts are so rare and everything was made for a particular chassis at that point in time. Even the V8 Supercar Blueprint era cars are all different between each chassis within a team as they learnt things and made improvements. The COTF cars between each Chassis builder is different too especially motor/oil systems/intakes. The Group A stuff is worth so much too especially chassis with good history. The only way to do it would be composite panels and similar engine drivelines to the original cars. Ford sierra running Focus RS driveline, Commodore running a short stroke LS/LT or a Falcon with coyote and a H Pattern dog box. Could use a standard ecu across all models with a Torque Map and DBW for parity which is not even used in Supercars currently. Hell a TCM is almost a full chassis car these days and the suspension is not even close to standard style in the front running cars.

    • Wish someone would start a racing series for Group A replica cars, a bit like Touring Car Masters but for 1985 onwards and not grandpa's falcon and/or Monaro. I know they race in some historic class but that's for original cars, no replicas allowed.
